✨️Tip Tuesday✨️ Remember to do your RESEARCH! 🔍️⁠

I've said it before, but I will keep saying it...😂 This is so, so important! There is nothing worse for a client than hearing a name, a product or a brand be mispronounced. ⁠

If there is anything in your script, the instructions or the breakdown that you don't understand - either look it up, or ask your agent! 👌⁠
⁠
I know sometimes there aren't a lot of details released with a commercial audition - so do your best. Gather as much information as you can, and make your best educated decisions based on what you know! ✅️⁠

If it's a union commercial, this is slightly different. You WILL know the brand and the product. So in this case, be sure to do your research! For example, if it's a Koodo commercial, and you're auditioning to play a representative of the brand, look at past commercials! What do the representatives wear - what colours, what kind of 'vibe' do they have? Then you can do your best to look and feel the part!⁠

All of your research will help information how you approach your audition. It's time well spent - and will pay dividends! I am always impressed when I can see an actor has done their research 🤗⁠

Great tips!

✨️Tip Tuesday✨️ Don't use your 'selfie cam' when taping an audition!⁠ (The front camera) ⁠
⁠
👀 I know it can be temping to want to see your framing or monitor your performance (especially if you're taping alone!)...⁠
⁠
HOWEVER - it can be really distracting to be able to see yourself perform, and often your eyes will be drawn to your own face (even if you're trying not to!) - and we can see this in your audition! ⁠
⁠
Trust me, your performance will be more natural by using the camera on the back of your phone 📸 (plus - this camera is generally a higher quality as well!) ⁠

Another friendly reminder when it comes to taping on your phone - make sure it's horizontal/ landscape 🙌 ✅️⁠
