Look. I know what it’s like to be glued to the lash chair all day, dreaming of freedom and being able to come and go as you please, but feeling stuck in the cycle of clients, long hours, and a looooming burnout. You’re maybe still passionate about your craft (or maybe you’re just over it lol), but you’re starting to wonder if it’s really sustainable.
Spoiler alert: it doesn’t have to be this way.
This is how I pivoted:
1. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: I stopped focusing on surface-level content and started creating an experience that my audience wanted to be part of. By showing up consistently and leaning into my story and journey, I made my brand a go-to place for beauty pros who not only wanted to grow the F out of their businesses, but they wanted to feel seen and understood.
2. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: I let go of trying to create the perfect piece of beautiful content every single time and leaned into being real. Sharing the ups and downs of my journey made my audience trust me because they could relate. They didn’t want another “perfect” coach—they wanted someone who’s been where they are and came out on the other side.
3. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀: Instead of throwing together courses and hoping they’d sell, I listened to what my community needed. I created solutions that helped them step away from in-person services and pivot into the online space. That’s how I’ve been able to not just sell, but truly serve.

After I had my second baby, things changed. 🤍
Specifically, the fact that if I wanted to make more money to contribute to our family, I needed to see more clients. But I didn’t want that.
So I decided to change my story & my reality.
However… it wasn’t without trying things and seeing what I actually liked and didn’t like. But what I DID know from the get go, I wanted to be able to make money for simply existing. For making an impact in other women’s lives, but without being tied to a physical location. So that I could be more present with my family, and not feel like I have no time for literally anything else because my days are back to back to back with clients.
I want you to know that over-giving and over-working… trying to climb whatever ladder that’s in front of you… no longer has to be apart of your story.
You can earn more, work less, and give even more to others because you have had the ability to fill up your cup— and therefore have more to pour into others.
The biggest piece of advice I can give you as a lash artist who pivoted into the online space completely.. is give yourself permission to try new things. And find a mentor you can lean on when things get hard. Because they will. It will not always be sunshine and rainbows and anyone who is telling you it’s so easy to do is just trying to make money off of you.
Remember, your story can change at anytime. You just need to give yourself permission.

We can’t just show up with our hands open accepting money to be dropped into them.
Create some free touch points. (Truly, your content can be included in this!)
Showcase that you know what you’re talking about through results you’ve gotten yourself and other people.
Be patient. Overnight success is the compounding affect of a hundred nights.

I’ll be honest with you…
I still have thoughts like these sometimes! Even though content is very easy to me now.
But here’s what helps me:
1. Disconnect. Get off socials. Stop scrolling. Put phone on DND.
2. Listen to some high vibe music, subliminals or a hypnotherapy session
3. If I want to post content, repurpose something I’ve made in the past. Literally copy and paste the caption. No one will notice or care.
4. Remind yourself that you are so much more than just your content
5. And trust that no matter what, as long as you are doing your best (whatever that looks like at that moment) the right people will see your content and find you.
