I could not resist recording a little video with this beautiful 60's (union made, Kalamazoo, Michigan) Epiphone all mahogany OM. It had a real useless bolted plastic bridge that wreaked all kinds of havoc on the top, including obliterating the spruce bridge plate into pieces. bridge is replaced with ebony, bridge plate replaced with koa. what was once unplayable, is now going to be played to death.

Home made guitar restoration

how often does a guitar built by someone who had never been an instrument maker by trade sound this good? it hadn't been strung in 20 years, had been hung as a decoration for most of those years, has scars that resemble bear mauling's (coincidence?), and I think the neck is attached with a giant screw. it came without a nut, bridge, tailpiece and tuners. now she's a plywood cadillac with cocobolo accents (they match the ultra rare plastic dots).
