Formulaic thinking isn't a strategy it's a safety net and the antichrist of creativity. Noone will ever convince me otherwise on this.

Be authentic, don't be afraid to show vulnerability and emotion. Last I checked we're attempting to connect with people ... not algorithms.

Id guesstimate that approx 3 out every 5 YouTube channels I've worked with in the past had no channel tags when we started. Without channel tags the algorithm has no idea what your audience is. Wrong audience results in poor click through rate, low watch time and ultimately minimal channel growth.Thankfully it's an easy fix.
