Starship Coconut Podcast launches into the Stars
Imagine if you mixed Saturday morning cartoons, British wit and Sci-Fi together in a 30 minute audio experience. The Adventures of the Starship Coconut follows the missions of the Confederation Star Force’s most underwhelming crew under the command of the gutless Captain Kiwi. His crew including a clueless pilot, socially inept Robot, a mysterious engineer, and a security officer with a chip on her shoulder explore a galaxy made up entirely of food. Their sanity and teamwork are tested by the devious Dr. Druel and the almighty Spacebeard, a super powerful Space Wizard who can control reality.
What started as one of David’s first university audio projects, has turned into the Boda Brothers’ first foray into the world of podcasting. David and Stephen Boda grew up listening to radio dramas, building lego, watching Cartoons, and falling in love with the space sagas of the likes of Rodenberry, Lucas, Spielberg, and so many others! They spent countless hours making homemade radio dramas and mixtapes on their handy old playskool tape recorder (You know the one with the two microphones).
Stephen is a classically trained composer, audio engineer, and (yes, you are reading this right) a professional pipe organist.
David grew up performing in musicals, making stop motion animated films, and watching every single TV episode of Star Trek ever made (at least twice).
