Jim Watson has been a professional actor since graduating George Brown’s Classical Theatre Program in 2011. He has been fortunate enough to pay the bills as a film and television actor, even finding a little extra time for his true passion; rock climbing. Some notable credits: TRANSPLANT (CTV/NBC), as Dr. Theo Hunter; THE STRAIN (FX), as Young Setrakian; and SLASHER (NETFLIX/SHUDDER), as various characters over multiple seasons.

A six part scene study intensive. Students will learn to trust themselves and their instincts as we work together on decluttering their approach to acting. In each class there will be an on-camera working session that will focus on understanding the scene and connecting with your scene partner. Each student will have an individual experience as no two actors are alike. This class is not designed to teach you a methodology, instead it is our hope that each student will discover their own pathway through the work and at the end of the class have a more confident and simplified approach to the profession.

He’s back! Writing room starts this Monday, January 6, from six to 8:30 PM at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre in our film room. The six week session is $240 plus hst. Register today through our website at hamiltonfilmfestival.com.

Writing Room welcomes all serious screenwriters at any level of experience to join me each week for 2-3 hours to get it done. I’ll facilitate discussion on craft screenwriting, bring in guest screenwriters, and share information about screenwriting podcasts and books. Most importantly, allow time for each screenwriter to share a work in progress and allow feedback.

3 Requirements:
A working story idea, at any stage: synopsis or treatment, partial or complete draft of a screenplay.
Be open to sharing and listening to well-meaning and honest criticism.
Most important is the willingness to try and see it through to the end.
