this is an important day. Remembrance Day

Canadians recognize Remembrance Day, “originally called Armistice Day, every 11 November at 11 a.m. It marks the end of hostilities during the First World War and an opportunity to recall all those who have served in the nation’s defence”.

Remembrance Day came to emphasize the memory of fallen soldiers instead of the political and military events leading to victory in the First World War.

Remembrance Day remained a day to honour the fallen, but traditional services also witnessed occasional calls to remember the horror of war and to embrace peace. Remembrance Day ceremonies were usually held at community cenotaphs and war memorials, or sometimes at schools or in other public places. Two minutes of silence, the playing of the Last Post, the recitation of In Flanders Fields, and the wearing of poppies quickly became associated with the ceremony.

“Remembrance Day is a time to honour and remember those who made sacrifices and to reflect on the lessons of the past. It is also a time to remember those who have been affected and continue to be affected by war and conflict across the world.”

Loving my job baby . Fully underway Special Olympics Halifax banquet

Hey Folks Looking for personal baseball "coach" I am a person with a disability and I am looking for someone that knows how to play baseball, is familiar with the rules of the game and could help me to improve my baseball skills such as pitching and batting. The person should have their own baseball glove and be available for 2 hours, preferably in the evening, three days per week. I am able to pay $15 per hour for a total of $90 per week until the end of September, 2024. Preferred field locations: Gorsebrook or Commons.
