Celine Tellier - Interview and Acoustic for Sleep It Off
Today, Celine Tellier released her latest single, #SleepItOff to all streaming platforms. Last weekend, we got together to talk about the single, and she and guitarist, Dan Minor, performed an acoustic version of the song for us.
Celine is no stranger to the music communtity in Northern Ontario. She has been performing as a solo artist, a duo, with Marc Serre, and even in a band called The Tarvelles for well over a decade, and shows no signs of stopping! She has opened for the likes of George Canyon and Brett Kissel, and is thrilled to announce that she will be opening for Lindsay Ell and Robyn Ottolini at #GraceHartmanAmphitheatre, on July 15th, as part of Cabin Media Entertainment Group's Sudbury Summer Concert Series!

Recently, I spoke with James Downham about his latest single, "Wine & Whiskey"
This isn’t a country drinking song. Rather, this song is about having someone in your life who can do more for you than wine or whiskey ever could. After a hard day, they’re the first person you want to see and the first person you want to talk to. “You can wash away any kind of pain. You’re my remedy. You’re my wine and whiskey.”
“Wine & Whiskey” is the latest release from Downham’s debut full-length album, “The Long Way Home.” The track features an all-star cast of musicians, including 2022 CCMA Award Winner Mitch Jay (Steel Guitar Player of the Year, Specialty Instrument Player of the Year) and 2022 CCMA Award Nominees Mark Rynkun (Bass Player of the Year) and Rich Dasilva (Drummer of the Year).
We also talked about his win on Season 2 of The Shot and much more. Plus, we even got to hear and acoustic verion of "Wine & Whiskey".

On May 27th, I caught up with Johnson's Creek, in Barrie, ON, before their show at North Country.
On May 15th, the band released their latest song, #HeavyMetalCowboy, to radio, and to music platforms on May 23rd. In its first week, the song hit number 5 on the DMDS Most Active Indies Week of May 19, 2023. By June 1st, it became #2 on the DMDS Top Country Downloads chart. This is the type of attention, this Country Rock tune is getting.

While in Sudbury for three shows at The Nash, it was great to catch up with Johnson's Creek for my first interview with them. Had to love that we recorded it in their Jeep. Unlike their song, #ILikeItDirty, it was actually pretty clean! Should have taken them for some off-roading fun! Maybe the next trip up!

It was a great feeling to attend some live music here in Sudbury last weekend at The Nash. Of course, I had to spend a little time with the band for a few entertaining videos. A few weeks ago, on a family trip to our nation's capital, Ottawa, I was able to connect with a few music friends before the trip back home. Keeping with COVID-19 protocol, Dan Petti Music, Terry Fernihough: Songwriter and I met by the #RideauRiver in Claudette Cain Park.
Terry Fernihough and I have known each other for well over a decade now. It is always a pleasure to meet up with him and talk music. He also has a quick wit and can keep me laughing at the best of times! He has an interesting and diverse background in the industry which we talk about here.
I did my first interview with Dan Petti in October 2020 for his single "My Kind of Road" over a Zoom chat. He was delightful! It was so nice be finally be able to meet him face-to-face and catch up with him. He brought me a #TimHortonsIcedCapp and I brought homemade muffins! A perfect mix!
Dan and Terry know each other through writing collaborations and attending events in the Ottawa area. Between the two of them, they have connected with many of the area's local talent.

Interview with Suzi Kory - 2021 Love Revolution Drive-In Country Music Festival
On Saturday August 14, 2021, the second annual #LoveRevolutionDriveInCountryMusicFestival will be making its way back to Cavan, Ontario.
The love child of Suzi Kory, this event was a much needed live music fix last year during our first Covid summer. Many in attendence voiced their encouragement for the event to happen this year, and it has!
This year's line up includes acoustic performances by Courtney Bowles Music, Chase Stevens, Megan Hutton & Ryan Anderson and full band experiences with Graham Scott Fleming, Jessica Sole, Jesse Slack, New Moon Junction, Johnson's Creek and, of course, Suzi Kory herself!
