In celebrating his life, we wanted to post a bit of the start of his interview, more of which we’ll be sharing soon. Key Issue is coming! The team at Definitive Film (The Crystal Calls, Power of Grayskull, Turtle Power and the still-forthcoming (sigh) A Riddle of Steel) is bringing their deep-dive documentary style to social media! Our pop culture projects take a long, long time and we have so much to share, so we’ve started The Definitive Podcast, the first episodes of which are focused on collecting comics. Key Issue will be a deep dive into collectible comic books, focusing on what we think is worth buying and why. It’s all about provenance. So, working with our friends at Covrprice, the team at Definitive Film welcomes you into our studio for a long and a chat about what we collect, why we like it and why it’s important in the pop culture world we love.

We are very happy to be able to share our latest trailer for A Gamers Journey: The Definitive History of Shenmue, which made its debut during the Golden Joystick Awards in London shortly after Yu Suzuki accepted his lifetime achievement award. A little under a year ago we had the opportunity to go to Japan and spend some time with Yu Suzuki and his team, documenting some of the development of the much awaited Shenmue 3 while also diving deep into the history of the franchise. In the subsequent months we’ve been hard at work crafting this story. As we accelerate into the later stages of post production we wanted to show you - the people who have been with us since the beginning and have supported us on our journey - a look behind the curtain.

Definitive Films began with the Turtles and those two awesome guys who created them...

It was born after Isaac Elliott-Fisher, Mark Hussey and Randall Lobb convinced Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird they were the right people to tell the history of the TMNT-

- after more than five years of intense, on-the-fly DIY deep-dive doc making

- after convincing Paramount they had much more than “just a fan doc” and watching as their confidence was justified with a successful worldwide release (that’s still selling!)
