The Hive is going to be making some changes in the new year, the first of which is adding music lessons offered by the extraordinary Caralyn Taylor.

Caralyn Taylor is a lively music educator with over 15 years of teaching experience and a BA in music

With a passion for teaching piano, guitar, voice and self-accompaniment she brings infectious enthusiasm to every lesson

Well that was an amazing night! The bands were awesome, the turn out was great, the energy in the room was fantastic. What an amazing musical artistic community we’re part of here, and community in general. The support for me and the Hive has been incredibly heartwarming. I want to thank everyone who reached out, who came out, who helped me, who sent kind words of support and encouragement, my friends who gave their time, the bands who donated their time and talents, and all my friends who use the Hive. You all had my back, I’ve never felt anything like this before, and I’ll never forget it. I especially want to thank my good friend Scott Reinson who went the extra distance and organized Hiveapalooza. You’re a gem kind sir!

November 1st marks the beginning of the last year of the lease on the hive. Sadly I don’t think I’ll renew. It hasn’t been what I had hoped it could be with only 2 paying bands using it regularly, so it’s been far too much financial stress.

June and July sucked bad in The Hive, low bookings, too many cancellations. Hopefully August will be better. No more spot holding without paying up front, and if you have to cancel within 24 hours, you’ll get a 50% refund. Grab your spot for August before someone else does. First come, first serve.
