Making more mocha cakes and getting a bit experimental... Added almond extract instead of vanilla and used chocolate crumbs for some of them.
I just put them in the freezer ☺️

I think it was my 11th birthday and my mom asked me what kind of cake I wanted.
I told her 11 mocha cakes 😄

This traditional Carleton County NB recipe is pound cake cut into 1" squares, dipped in a liquid instant coffee/icing sugar mixture then rolled in crushed peanuts

We bought these at the Boyce Market this morning and I'll give em a 7 out of 10... not as good as mom, Marion and Ida used to make, but still pretty good. Maybe I'll make my own this Xmas 🎄

Hi everybody it's been awhile, eh?

I've been somewhat immersed in my new gig working for the province (and loving it), so I haven't been motivated to post much.
With preparations well underway for our 13th Annual Walkerween Party Saturday night, I thought I'd take a moment from watching my wife put up all the decorations to soak in some of this sweet ☀️ and make up a tune for you. What would you name it?

In early 1994, I'd been working in country radio for just under two years and I was starting to like more of the edgier stuff. This song from the great Kelly Willis was a VERY minor hit around that time and I still think it's great. Kelly never got the career she deserved but then, that's always been a fact in the music industry, like it or not. Regardless, please enjoy my shortened version and do yourself a favour and look Ms Willis up. She also had a small part in the film Bob Roberts, which is also worth a watch. #HappyFriday
