It's an honour just to be mentioned.

Matt Salem is certified in graphic design from the University of Calgary and has been practicing now for over 20 years. He works with local filmmakers through M’Guphynn Media where he has helped film shows, shorts, and documentaries here in the region. In the last few years, he has taken to teaching many filmmaking, and graphic design workshops for children, schools, adults and non-profit organizations. He is a recent recipient of the Arts and Culture grant through the municipality where he will be engaging other artists in the region to help design a video that would show off parts of Fort McMurray that are in need of more art.

Matt is nominated for the Media Arts Award.

Another big day on set of "A Free Man" I had the biggest challenge of my film career today directing 33 extras during a scene we shot at and it was also one of the coolest and most excited things I have ever done. So grateful for everyone who came out and helped on set and to the casino itself for allowing us to film in there while they were closed.
