Synopsis
A recent public awareness initiative dedicated to su***de prevention stated '11 Edmontonains attempt or die by su***de per day.' (11ofus.ca) And studies have shown that for each death by su***de, at least 7 to 10 survivors are significantly impacted by the loss. Those left behind after these sudden tragedies often face intense & complicated grief, lasting trauma, and even stigma from friends, family and/or our communities. Yet despite the need, social & psychological support is often limited after a su***de loss, leaving survivors stumbling in the dark on the path to healing. And yet, healing must happen. This series will blend survivor stories with expert perspectives & advice for those on this journey.

Lighting can completely change the way a video looks 💡
The way a shot is lit can shape the way the audience interprets the story. If the scene is poorly lit, regardless of whether the narrative is good or not, the audience will find it difficult to follow.
If you plan on shooting video content, make sure there is enough lighting for you to get a clear shot while also ensuring that it contributes to the atmosphere your story needs.

A Circle of Angels began when Kristen Edmiston and Beverely Hasinoff's father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
Throughout his journey with a terminal illness, Dave demonstrated courage and grace, asking his daughters to help him share a gift with those who supported him along the way.
From there, little crystal angels were made and it soon blossomed into a pay-it-forward project with proceeds being donated to charity.
We had the privilege to work with Kristen and Beverley to share the touching story of A Circle of Angels with the rest of the community. ❤️

When browsing for music, you need to understand the different licenses there are to protect yourself and your work. There are three basic types of licenses: Public Domain, Royalty Free, and Creative Commons.
Pay close attention to each license and what is included in them! They are all different and you don't want to mistake one for the other.

Who doesn’t love a good story? You can get lost for hours in the pages of an interesting book, you can be moved to tears by a personal video, or you can gain a new skill just by watching and learning from an expert. Video is powerful and video is something we are immensely passionate about.
My name is Dez. It’s short and it’s simple and it’s me. I believe telling a good story started when I was just a kid...now I say this because my Mom would look at my as I told my tale and just smile. I was always in trouble for talking too much and weaving a good dialogue was sort of embedded in me. I was lucky to work for CTV News for nearly 15 years. It started with a drive to capture the News as it happened and get that information out to people watching. That drive changed in to sharing inspiring, positive stories of the people and business in my community. There I fell in love....with the story. Their story. A spark to show people their stories matter and to tell them in a visual way became all I wanted to do and lucky me...it’s exactly what I get to do now with my partner in crime Mike Tighe. He's talented behind the camera and the computer editing. Together I believe we can craft so many stories to make you think, cry, learn, love, and grow. I can’t wait to share your story.
My name is Mike Tighe...I’m the other half and would be okay saying the awesome half (hahaha) of the Storyteller Productions duo. My love of stories started as a kid in high school...broadcasting gave me a direction and a goal. I’ve worked for every News station in Edmonton and learned something from each, but being able to tell stories in a different way for CTV News On Your Street ignited a new desire in me. This adventure will be hard and it will be exciting, but it’s an adventure I’m thrilled to be on. We want to share your story...we want to help your business grow...and we want to show you the possibilities are endless for connecting with your community.
