NITF
Once upon a time, in a small town where the streets were alive with the sound of skateboards, there was a legendary shop known as "Nightmares in the Flesh!” The shop was a beacon for all skateboard enthusiasts, run by four friends who brought the community together through their shared passion for bold tricks and even bolder dreams.
The crew, known affectionately as NITF, was led by you, skating alongside your friends John, Roose, Tim, and Ruben. Each member brought their own unique flair; John, with his endless creativity, Roose, the fearless leader who faced any obstacle, Tim, whose laughter was infectious and tricks seamless, and Ruben, the zen soul, always quick with wise words and a comforting presence.
Years had passed since your friends had moved on to the great skatepark in the sky, but every Halloween, you could feel their spirits stronger than ever. So, with pumpkins lit, ramps set, and skateboards lined up ready, you stepped into the shop that glowed with memories.
On this particular Halloween, something magical happened. As the clock struck midnight, a gentle breeze swept through the shop, rustling the wheels of the boards lined up on display. The air grew electric with anticipation and warmth, and you could almost hear John’s voice challenging you to a trick-off, Roose laughing about it being an endless session, Tim cheering in excitement, and Ruben assuring you that this was just the beginning.
Suddenly, from your board collection, a peculiar board glimmered—a radiant skateboard decorated with ghostly graphics, something you’d never seen before. Curious, you stepped onto it, and as you did, the room transformed. Walls faded away into a mystical skatepark, the horizon glowing with ethereal lights.
There they were, your dear friends, skating with the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of an endless twilight. Their forms were translucent, but their energy unmistakable—each pulling moves that defied the very laws of nature. John zipped by on starry rails, Roose executing gravity-defying spins, Tim soaring effortlessly, and Ruben weaving through with serene elegance.
"No tricks we can't land here!" John shouted, a grin wide and welcoming.
You joined them, the laughter, the freedom, the connection—undying. Together, you all carved through the endless lanes, free-spirited and alive as they always were, the spirit of friendship bridging between the worlds.
After countless rounds of tricks and shared stories, you finally slowed down, feeling the weight of your breathless joy. The skatepark of dreams began to fade but without sadness, only peace. As dawn began to break, with the Halloween night surrendering to a new day, your friends waved goodbye, promising, "We’re always here, riding alongside you."
Returning to your shop, the board beneath your feet seemed still, ordinary. Yet, it held within it a warmth, a promise that the NITF spirit was far from gone.
And so, you set it lovingly against the wall, adorned by the memories of your friends, knowing that though they were seen in spirit only once a year, they were always there in every ride, every trick, and every memory shared.
Halloween was not just about remembering the past—but celebrating the bonds that defy time and space, crafting a legacy that rides forever. Hallelujah to the crew of NITF!
