In the recent Muskoka edition, we featured Shiloh Shores, a newly-built, family-friendly retreat with four four-bedroom cottages on a large sandy beach on Commanda Lake. This Haven Island cottage in Muskoka retains an old-world charm that the owners are determined to retain. One key element to the renovation was when carpenters removed the loft in the original cottage to create this large new dining space. They saved the loft ladder, which now complements the eclectic collection of wooden dining room chairs in this charming cottage.
