Our story ...

Established by long-time local journalist and editor Nelson Zandbergen, Nation Valley News Ltd. is an all-digital news and advertising company — and the only locally owned news outlet in the Township of North Dundas. We're happy to have been embraced by the community we serve. Our news coverage area is focused on the South Nation River valley. Our advertising services, however, are

unlimited by geographic bounds. We offer social-media marketing help for local businesses that often don't have the time or expertise to make full use of Facebook's extremely powerful and far-reaching platform. Through words, video, sound and imagery, let Nation Valley News efficiently and economically reach your clients where they are today! (And that's on the digital devices they hold in their hands wherever they go — not newsprint and not radio.) Our website, nationvalleynews.com, averages over 50,000 unique visitors every month. Conventional banner advertising is available on the site. Even more economical advertising options are available for churches and service clubs that have simple events to publicize. (Please don't think a classified newsprint ad is your only option!) Call us to learn more. Nation Valley News Ltd. is based in Chesterville, operating out of the MB Foster/Storm Internet building at 2808 County Rd. 7 (also known as 82 Main Street on some maps).

Dr. Paul Roumeliotis talks about the major pullback of government-run testing and contact tracing amid the omicron wave. The switch to a "no test strategy" and other changes, he says, are a forerunner of a coming shift to "living with covid" as an endemic virus — ultimately with fewer restrictions on day-to-day life — and no longer a pandemic situation. The Eastern Ontario Medical Officer of Health looks forward to a "bright spot" in 2022 as this transition hopefully occurs.

One year ago today, Dr. Paul delivers a pep talk as the kiboshed Christmas of 2020 approaches. A "new ball game" has begun as the doctor foresees "a bit of light at the end of the tunnel" that is "literally around the corner" in 2021.

At the South Mountain fairgrounds, this Friday and Saturday night ... the North Dundas 'Display' of Lights returns as a stationary affair for the second year in a row.

Countdown is on for the North Dundas Display of Lights

Get ready to twinkle with delight! The North Dundas Display of Lights is coming up on December 3, from 7 to 9pm, and December 4, from 5 to 9pm. People can take in all the festive fun at the South Mountain Fairgrounds (2967 Lough Road).
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the parade will once again be stationary, with spectators driving by the floats in their vehicles. The event also includes a Vendor Show, which is a great way to get some Christmas shopping done while supporting local makers.
