What is your favorite Retro product and why?
- Potent Pete! is definitely my top choice. The extensive year-long R&D that went into its creation makes me particularly proud. Nothing quite compares to it in the infused pre-roll category. From the moment you take just two puffs, you’ll feel its effects
behind your eyes instantly. It burns consistently start to finish, offering an experience like no other. Give it a try, I promise you will not be disappointed.

What are your hobbies outside work?
- I love spending quality time on the water with my family. My daughter has a great passion for fishing and wildlife so we often find ourselves at local wildlife parks catching frogs and exploring for salamanders.

How long have you been in the cannabis industry for?
- My journey in the cannabis industry dates back to the early 2000s. I began as a medical grower/designated grower under MMPR, MMAR and ACMPR regulations. Throughout my time in the industry, my passion for the plant has always been paramount, with a steadfast focus on quality and consistency. I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound benefits that cannabis can provide for someone’s quality of life, solidifying my dedication to this industry.

What is your favorite part of working in the cannabis industry?
- My favorite part is the community aspect. Working together to better the industry one step at a time is incredibly rewarding. In industry is always evolving and being part of that change is what makes it so engaging.

Meet the Team!

As we lean into summer, we thought it was time to introduce another team member, meet Dave! Dave has been around since Day 1 and has been able to watch us grow year in and year out📈

What is your role at Retro?

My role is a Production Lab Technician🧑🏻‍🔬. My position is quite diverse and can shift from week to week but I think that’s what I love about it the most. One week I’m working in the extraction lab and another week I’m helping in PR production!

What is your favourite Retro product?

The Long Weekend! A 30g bud bag of craft flower for $85, you can’t beat that kind of value!

What is your biggest hobby when you’re out of the lab?

I love to paint! I paint scenic island landscapes using acrylic paints and a few of my works are currently being showcased around the island 🎨

Why do you choose to work at Retro?

The team and the atmosphere here is awesome. We all work hard and everyone rolls up their sleeves when they need to 💪

We are thrilled to introduce our very first student intern, Adam, who is joining Retro Cannabis for the next 8 weeks from PEI's very own Holland College. Get to know Adam!

What projects will you be involved in while working at Retro?
So far at Retro everyday is new; whether it's packing and processing products, or in the lab helping with CO2 extractions. At the end of every week I get to sit down and chat with each department head to learn about their roles and impact on the overall business which has been great!

What are your hobbies outside of work?
One of my hobbies outside of work is growing cannabis. I started in 2021 and immediately fell in love with it! I am currently working on a breeding project so I can have a strain to call my own!

What is your favourite Retro product and why?
Potent Pete! Although, today, we were producing and packing some of the new Honey Diamonds product which looked and smelled incredible. I believe it drops in PEI later this month! Potent Pete! is a legit powerhouse and it is a great product to suggest to friends who think infused pre-rolls aren't strong enough!

What is your favourite part about working in the cannabis industry?
The knowledge. Its not just some person growing cannabis in their basement like way back in the day. The cannabis industry has a lot of moving parts and leverages so many different types of professions; botanists, chemists, engineers, accountants and high-skilled labourers to name a few. Thankfully, everyone at Retro has been more than willing to teach, share wisdom, and most of all, put up with all my questions! This is going to be an awesome experience for me!
