নাইমুল রাসেল বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগ এবং বাংলাদেশ ছাত্রলীগের (বিসিএল) একজন সদস্য। তাঁর এই অপরাধমূলক কার্যক্রম ঢাকার শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোতে ব্যাপক আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টি করেছে। বিভিন্ন সময়ে তাঁর নেতৃত্বে সংগঠিত নির্যাতন ও হত্যাকাণ্ডের কারণে অসংখ্য পরিবার শোকাহত হয়েছে।
