Lisa May LeBlanc wanted to find a local publisher for her book. Colleen McCubbin lived in the same neighbourhood Lisa did. Despite never meeting before, Lisa and Colleen got along well. They worked hard to get The Ninth Child ready for publication.

When Marcia Laycock published Merrigold's Very Best Home, we knew it could be more than a picture book. We wanted to create things for people who love the story. We made blankets, pillows, tumblers, and posters. We also created another book featuring Merriold: Wee Merrigold's Wee Wanderings. The scrapbook features intrepid, stubborn Merrigold on her travels.
