A new movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson and LaKeith Stanfield will begin filming in Calgary on Monday.

According to ACTRA, the film – called Die, My Love – will be in production in the city and the surrounding area from Monday, Aug. 19 to Tuesday, Oct. 8. via CTV Calgary

Our local filming industry hero

Let’s chat a little about this Longview legend and home town hero. For many that Know John, know what he represents and what he brings to the table. The Alberta film industry wouldn’t be what it is today without the expertise and talent of John Scott and his team of wranglers and stunt performers.

Having many big screen films filmed right here in Longview, is such a asset to our little community. We thank the Alberta Film Industry for taking such interest in our diverse landscapes and culture.

This is one of three required courses for the Directors Guild of Canada Alberta District Council Membership and when applying to become a Registered Permittee . The workshop is instructed by an experienced Guild Member providing an examination of what is expected of a Production Assistant and preparation for the extreme demands of film and television production.

The Alberta-shot HBO series "The Last Of Us" has just won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series! 🎬👏 A massive shoutout to the incredible stunt team, including several talented Albertans, for their extraordinary work.

Special recognition goes to Guy Bews, the stunt coordinator, and notable locals like Brent Woolsey, Sally Bishop, Jason Glass, and many more who brought the action-packed scenes to life. 🌟

Alberta's unique blend of stunt and rodeo talent shone brightly in this series, especially in the jaw-dropping zombie emergence scene filmed in Calgary. 🧟‍♂️🔥
