DJ students learn how to:
- Drop, Fade, Beat Mix: Learn over 30 varieties of beat mixes, drops, and fades used by professionals.
- Create Mash-Ups: Mix your own original mash-ups using tracks from your favorite artists.
- Live Remixing: Learn to sample your favorite parts of songs and create your own sample based mixes which you can perform live.
- Scratch: Learn to play your gear as an instru
ment. Even manipulate drum beats to create your ow patterns.
- Beat Juggle: Many genres spawned from this technique. Learn how to use it in your DJ sets.
- Battle: Out perform other DJ by learning the art of turntablism. The most advanced skills are taught in this part of the course. Electronic music students learn to:
- Write drum beats - Create a full, big sounding, original electronic drum beat for your specific genre.
- Edit audio tracks - Record audio and make it match the rest of the music (this is more important than most people realize). You will also learn about microphone placement and settings.
- Sound design - AB Records specializes in teaching students how to create any desired sounds from scratch. Learn how to use oscillators, filters, LFOs, and much more.
- Sampling – How to do proper sampling and how to turn audio into MIDI and back again. Learn how to sample from your favorite artists and turn it into something new and original.
- Write a bass line, and melody – Write, play and program bass lines in a variety of different ways. You will also learn complex melodies, as well as any other part of a song you wish to add.
- Sound Engineering - You can't be a good electronic music producer without being a talented audio engineer. Learn how to make yours song sound commercial quality using compressors, reverb,
equalizers and any other engineering aspect.
