I first “met” Wakefield through a video of his spoken words shared online and then “met him in person” at the November’s Celebration for the Arts hosted by Mayor Gondek at the Jack Singer Concert Hall last year watching his performance. Contrary to his appearance, Wakefield on the stage was charismatic, soft and tender. His words immediately drew everyone’s attention - calling out social and environmental issues, mental health and wellness and racism.

From an addict to Calgary Poet Laureate, mental health advocate, community builder, entrepreneur, etc., it’s a beautiful and admirable journey. 🍃🍃🍃

Inspired by Black History Month and Women's History Month, April is marked as National Poetry Month to turn the attention of the world towards the art of poetry. Excuse my photography skills. The photo doesn’t do its justice. But hear me out people.

This Crème Brûlée’s from is a must in your Christmas dinner this year. Or even you don’t celebrate Christmas, just have it while Netflix and chill 😉. Okay. Enough. Let’s talk about the cake.

😱😱😱 Omgggg The rich in flavour custard, the thin crust and the layer of fruits soaked in sugar is everything you want to die for. It’s light, not very sweet. Just perfect. Every bite is a bite of happiness. It literally melted the moment I put it in my mouth 🫠. I literally couldn’t resist myself and finished half of it within seconds.

Just be clear this is not an and I bought this with my own money. So it’s up to you if you want to trust me or not. It’s sooooooo good.

Okay, need to go back and finish the cake now. Bye.

🌻 Mountain Standard Time is offering a 7 month paid opportunity to 6 lBPOC youth between the ages of 16-18 to explore artistic practices through a series of workshops, artist-led mentorship, culminating in a fully-funded artist project of their choosing. The initiative is called the Youth Art Caucus (YAC).

🌱APPLY: JULY 11th
🌱START: JULY 25th
🌱PAYMENT: $150 per meeting x 8 in the summer
$20/hr in the fall (MAX 10hrs a week)

⚠️**The poster says youth between the ages 16 - 18 - please do not let this deter you as we are accepting expressions of interest from folks who identify as youth.
