** VIDEO SCREENING & INFO SESSION **

Regarding Anglican Healing Fund grants available for survivors and their descendants, of sexual abuse committed by former Anglican priest, Gordon Goichi Nakayama.

The sexual abuse of Japanese Canadian children by GG Nakayama has been an open secret for many decades. In 2015, at the behest of the Japanese Canadian Working Group (JCWG), the Anglican Church of Canada apologized to survivors and their families.

In 2019, the church provided a healing fund of $610,000 for counselling, community projects and education grants.

The JCWG invites you to attend a video screening (details below), participate in an open Q&A session, and obtain information on how to apply for these healing fund grants. In attendance will be members of the JCWG, with collective professional experience in education, social work, counselling and nursing: Wendy Matsubuchi-Bremner, Judy Hanazawa, Emi Lashin, Ryan Walsh and Liz Nunoda.

Snacks and beverages will be provided.
