The Warrington for Corbyn Rally, held the night before the 2017 snap general election, was organised to show the level of support for Jeremy Corbyn in Warrington, as well as to push for a Labour victory. The event was a huge success, featuring live music and speeches from local activists and elected representatives, including Julie Ward MEP. The next day, Warrington voted Labour in both constituencies, with Faisal Rashid MP taking back Warrington South from the Tories and Helen Jones increasing her majority in Warrington North. This result came after Labour made gains in Warrington in the 2016 local elections, as well as several Parish Council by-election victories since Jeremy became leader of the party.
