Meet Billy a dog that's full of energy and loves to have fun? He’s a spirited 3-year-old German Shepherd Leonberger mix who's on the lookout for his forever home. He came to us through no fault of his own, and he's ready to be your new best friend! He’s looking for a family who’s home more than they’re away (he gets lonely and has exhibited signs of separation anxiety). He’s great with people (children 8+ due to being a puppy and still learning manners) extremely sweet and loyal, lives for belly rubs. Not well suited for a home with cats, he’s specific with his dog friends and would likely prefer a docile female.

He walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. Billy is almost completely housetrained, but may have some accidents while he’s settling in and learning routine.

He will definitely try to sleep in the bed with you, a big old teddy bear, extremely lovable and ready to learn! ❤️

All dogs and cats available for adoption at HSHPE have been vaccinated, micro-chipped and spay/neutered, and have been treated for internal and external parasites, when needed.

Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren’s Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300.

Adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300.

CARRYING PLACE SWING BRIDGE CLOSURE 🚧

The Carrying Place Swing Bridge will close to through traffic nightly from the evening of Nov. 12 to Nov. 14, and Nov. 17 to Nov. 21, for maintenance work.

📍 Where: Carrying Place Swing Bridge
📅 When: Nov. 12 to Nov. 14, and Nov. 17 to Nov. 21, nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

The bridge will remain open on Nov. 15 and 16.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. All other traffic will be detoured via the Brighton Road Swing Bridge during the nightly closure period.
