Installed new pickups in this 8-stringer… but the replacement size was much different than the OEM pickups and didn’t fit the mounting rings.

Thanks to technology, I modeled and 3D printed a custom set of mounting rings to perfectly suit the need. 👍🏻

Currently working on a new build of my RMS model, with specs as follows: alder body; 1/4 sawn maple neck with rosewood fingerboard; 25.5” scale; 9-1/2” fingerboard radius; SSS pickup configuration with 5-way selector switch; my hand wound single coil pickups; Hipshot bridge and tuners, all nickel; and planning Shoreline gold finish with mint pickguard.

Time for a neck reset on this ‘68 Martin D12-20. This neck came off quite clean, I’m pleased.

I’ll be making a new bridge too, as the original was planed earlier in its life to defer a neck reset. The bridge is next to be removed.

This RMT model, has specs as follows: makore body; quarter-sawn maple neck with indian rosewood fingerboard; 22 frets, stainless steel; 25-1/2" scale; C neck carve with 12" fingerboard radius; satin open pore finish; Seymour Duncan Lil'59 in bridge and neck positions; VVT control configuration with 3-position toggle; Gotoh bridge and Hipshot tuners.

This guitar is available as demo, and custom configurations of this body style are also available with a variety of material, specs and features, each to the buyer’s choice. Inquiries are welcome by email to [email protected].

Recently finished two of my single cut "T" inspired builds, which I'm calling my model RMT, watch for photos coming soon.

With those complete, I now have my eyes set on my next build... another RMS model with 22 frets and an SSS pickup configuration, and thinking shoreline gold and mint pickguard for this one. Stay tuned...

This is my RMS model, with specs as follows: makore body with maple "drop-top" cap; maple neck with cocobolo fingerboard; 24 frets, stainless steel; 25-1/2" scale; C neck carve with 12" fingerboard radius; gloss top burst lacquer finish with satin back and sides; Sustainiac system with Dimarzio Super 3 in bridge and HS-2 in middle; Original Floyd Rose bridge and locking nut; satin gold hardware with black accents.

I’m in the process of second generation design updates to this design and will be starting a new build soon… looking forward to that build and more to follow!

This build log details the complete hand build as I had done prior to investing in a CNC router… the latter being a much more practical and accurate endeavor, and with a dependency on a broader skill set.

With the design and tool paths complete, I’m on to building. This guitar features a maple “drop top”… took some time and trials to develop but the results are worth the effort. The body will be complete this week and on to the neck next week…
