Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there.
I’ll never forget the moments leading up to you being a dad. One of the amazing blessings of adoption was waiting with you. It started with a text at 10 pm and then frantic packing to drive 4 hours. Circling the hospital trying to find an open door in the middle of the night. Then an empty waiting room that we sat in for 7 hours. Our last 7 hours of waiting to be parents. Then finally the birth father came into the waiting room and said. “Do you want to feed her”? You jumped up and said “YES”. Ever since then I’ve had the joy of watching you love these babies that we prayed so hard for. You provide for us and protect us and give us a really good life. We love you sooooo much.

We celebrated our big girl this weekend with her birth family. I will never forget the day she was born. What a joyful gift she is to all of us. 8 years of living this beautiful open adoption life.

Happy National Adoption Day from our adoption loving family!! We’re so grateful for our 2 precious children that bring us all together. We are so blessed to be surrounded in love and support. If I could tell you anything about adoption it would be that it’s a little scary at first and then you learn to let your heart grow and embrace it all. adoption day

Our first support group was November 2017. It has been amazing to meet so many women who have been vulnerable with their stories and willing to support others who are also on this journey. As our family has grown I have felt it was time to pass it on to others to lead, and a few great ladies have stepped up to keep it going. I have always stepped back in but now I feel that the time for me to run the support group has officially come to an end. I feel that my season of grieving infertility is over. I’m grateful for that and I’m grateful for my beautiful kids and adoption story that healed my heart. I will use this account to continue to share my family’s story, adoption resources and I will always be here if anyone wants to chat adoption.
Today I passed the torch one final time to my good friend and someone I look up to so much. Erin (and Tiffany) will be hosting the support group and future events through their new Non Profit ‘Day One’. Please follow their page and read more about their intentions to continue to support women near and far experiencing infertility. Your not alone. Much love and blessings to you all -Emily

Today was amazing! Reconnecting with our Hope for Waiting Arms Community. We’re missing quite a few but this was a great turnout. Look at all these beautiful babies that were hoped for, prayed for, dreamed about. And some we are still waiting on 😉. These are strong persistent women let me tell you! Thank you Erin for organizing and getting all of our schedules to line up somehow!!! ALL 👏 THE 👏 FEELS 👏
