Despite tough conditions and having to work harder to find cooler water, baby Ranger saw its fair share of skis last week, including its biggest ever with Sarah’s 47 3/4” on the fly! 🤘🤘🤘

Grassy Narrows Lodge hosted one heck of a Women’s Week and I’m so thankful there were a handful of women as bonkers as I am to fish muskie with!

Two sweet girls up for adoption through the same rescue my Golden Boy came from 🖤🤍

Update on the 4 Kawartha Newfs:

Mayflower is still available.

Dora now has a meet and greet pending with a great family.

Both Trixie and Rex have been adopted by loving families and left for their new homes today! Yay!

We are courtesy posting these dogs for the folks involved in their rehoming. At this time, we are looking to families who have previously been SCREENED AND APPROVED as volunteers or adopters with Newf Friends who may be interested in adopting one of these dogs--we're sure some of the hundreds of families who have adopted from us will be a match. If we have not confirmed homes for these two remaining girls by the end of the weekend, we will open up applications to people who have not previously adopted from us.

The dogs are UTD on vaccines - paperwork is available. Newf Friends has not been involved in any vetting -- the adopter will be responsible for spay/neuter/bloodwork/treating any health issues.

They have lived with other dogs and no obvious signs of aggressive behavior have been noted, but adopters will need to assess temperament themselves.

Dora 2 yr old brown and white female (in the background in this photo) - she is a shy/timid girl who will benefit from confidence boosting. She will be happiest in a home with another very well-socialized dog as she finds comfort in the company of dogs

Mayflower 2 yr old female Landseer (in the foreground)- the most energetic of the bunch. She is a bit skittish and will need socialization and confidence-building exercises.

I had a whirlwind trip to the Toronto Sportsmen's Show yesterday. Got to see old friends and meet some new ones! Didn’t think to grab more photos, too much chatting will do that.

There are two more days! Go check out Silver Cedar Studio’s stunning booth and display in Hall 1, near the fi****ms. Katie and Mark came all the way from Thunder Bay for Katie’s very first Sportsman Show, show them some love!

Chat with Pat, Matt, or Brian from Kesagami Wilderness Lodge about a handful of openings they have this year. John at Cochrane Air Service is at the booth as well with some wonderful outposts.

Throwback Thursday to an article I wrote a few years ago on how to take some different styled fishing photos. One change I'd make now that I never saw coming: vertical over horizontal photos for social media is now more accepted. Websites are still built to appreciate horizontals.

One step further for those active on social trying to get more views: take a vertical video of your catch to post as a reel instead of a photo.
