Since cold fronts invade Belize and Central America more frequently, the air mass change will impact our air temperatures much more.The minimum temperature map presented shows quite well the distribution of low temperatures across the country.The western and northwest parts of the country experience the lowest temperatures in December.Maximum daily temperatures range between 28C to 30C.Minimum temperatures range between 18 to 21C on average.

As we head into the final month for 2024, it is always useful to see what the weather for December is like.Typically, the month of December forms a part of the dry season.Weather systems that impact our weather are the intrusion of cold fronts, and sometimes upper level trough systems.The map presented shows the rainfall distribution normally expected for December in Belize.Highest rainfall typically occur along southern coastal Belize(Stann Creek and Toledo).The rainfall for the remainder of the country is much less.

Good morning Everyone, The weather in Belize City is still very cloudy,but the intensity of the rainfall has dropped off significantly compared to yesterday. Base on the 6am report, the center of Sara is little west of Glover's Reef. The cloud bands on radar images appear poorly organized and appear in clusters mostly to the north and northeast of the center.Highest rainfal for today through to Tuesday(Nov.19th) will be concentrated for southern Belize(Toledo, Stann Creek).Rainfall estimates will range between to 8 to 12inches.The remainder of coastal Belize will experience much less rainfall.Estimates for the three day period from today to next Tuesday will range between 4 to 6inches.The maximum sustained winds are set at 40mph.When landfall occurs those winds will decrease steadily.The threat in the aftermath of the storm's passage will be flooding,debris and destroyed roads and streets.Regards, Frank Tench

Good morning Everyone, Sara is currently stationary between the Bay Islands and the coast of north Honduras.The storm has weakend somewhat and the clourd structure appears less organized.Rainfall forecasts have been toned down for the next few days, with the core of highest rainfall still likely for southern coastal Belize.The remainder of the coast will continue with daily rainfall amounts of between 35 to 50mm(1.5 to 2inches).Flooding risks for southern and coastal Belize still remains high.Winds will probably remain btween 35 to 45mph with occasional higher gusts to 55mph.The storm center should reach the coast of Belize during Sunday morning.

The complete rainfall distribution based on data gathered from the network of rainfall stations across the country.Sunday's(July 2nd) rainfall was highest in the Belize,Corozal and northern Stann Creek districts.Rainfall totals measured over three inches for these districts.
