VEE MAMPEEZY CHARITY DONATES SHOES AT OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT

Gaborone – Botswana

By the grace of God, Vee Mampeezy Charity on Tuesday paid a humanitarian visit to the Office of the Vice President of Botswana, His Honour Rre Ndaba Gaolathe, where the foundation officially donated shoes meant for distribution to vulnerable members of the community.

The delegation, led by award-winning musician and philanthropist Vee Mampeezy, was warmly received by senior government officials, reflecting growing collaboration between civil society and government in addressing social needs.

Those who welcomed the charity included Her Worship Deputy Mayor Manki Sekete, Hon Sesupo Jacobs, Hon Tshenolo Palai, Hon Charles Pereko, Hon Mmusi Gulubane and Tshepo Bogopa.

The donation forms part of Vee Mampeezy Charity’s nationwide humanitarian programme aimed at restoring dignity, comfort and confidence to underprivileged citizens through the provision of essential items.

Speaking after the handover, Vee Mampeezy said the initiative was driven by a desire to support government’s efforts in uplifting vulnerable communities.

“By the grace of God, we are honoured to partner with government leadership in extending a helping hand to our people. This donation represents love, dignity and hope for those who need it most,” he said.

Officials present applauded the foundation for its continued commitment to social responsibility and for setting an example of how artists can play a meaningful role in national development beyond entertainment.

Vee Mampeezy Charity has over the years been actively involved in food parcel distributions, clothing drives, school support initiatives and emergency relief interventions across Botswana.

The latest donation further cements Vee Mampeezy’s reputation not only as a celebrated musician, but also as a committed humanitarian whose work continues to positively impact communities across the country.

Distribution of the donated shoes is expected to be carried out through relevant community structures in the coming days.

Gaborone – Renowned South African music producer and artist Sylvia Tshanda of Dalom Music has proposed to host a free community music festival in Old Naledi as part of efforts to promote cultural development and give back to the local community.

Tshanda made the proposal during a courtesy call on Gaborone City Mayor, His Worship Oarabile S. Motlaleng, where she expressed interest in staging the event in Old Naledi or any other suitable location within the city.

She said the idea was inspired by the Mayor’s recent engagement in Old Naledi and the community’s strong appreciation of Splash music, adding that the festival would serve as a platform to celebrate local music and culture while fostering community unity.

Mayor Motlaleng welcomed the proposal, describing it as a positive initiative that aligns with the City’s commitment to promoting arts, culture and community development.
“The City is supportive of initiatives that uplift communities and promote cultural growth,” he said.
Town Clerk Daniel Katjinotjiwa also welcomed the proposal, stating that the City would work closely with community leadership structures to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.
He noted that such events play a critical role in strengthening social cohesion and providing platforms for local talent.

Veetros has rolled out a new budget-friendly meal deal aimed at giving customers more value without compromising on taste.

The fast-growing food brand is now offering a 6-piece crunchy chicken wings meal for just P59.95, which comes with golden fries and a 330ml Pepsi.

The deal targets customers looking for affordable, filling meals, especially students, workers on lunch breaks and late-night diners, as Veetros continues expanding its 24-hour service model across its outlets.

Known for its crispy fried chicken and flame-grilled menu, Veetros has been steadily positioning itself as a strong competitor in Botswana’s quick-service restaurant market, using aggressive pricing and combo offers to attract new customers while rewarding loyal ones.

The wings deal is expected to drive foot traffic, particularly at high-volume branches, as the brand intensifies its campaign to dominate the local fast-food space.

With more promotional packages anticipated, Veetros appears determined to maintain momentum while keeping meals accessible to everyday consumers.

The shoes will be distributed to vulnerable and underprivileged members of the community, including children, the elderly and disadvantaged households, as part of the charity’s ongoing social impact programmes.

Speaking on the donation, Vee Mampeezy expressed heartfelt appreciation to Pierre Cardin for supporting the foundation’s mission.
“By the grace of God, we are humbled to receive this donation from Pierre Cardin.

Madala Le KellyJess Join Motse Wa Setso 2026 Line-Up

FRANCISTOWN — The Motse Wa Setso Cultural Festival has announced another major addition to its growing 2026 line-up with the inclusion of Madala Le KellyJess, a duo celebrated for their soulful traditional sound, storytelling and rhythmic performances.

The third edition of the festival will take place on 24 April 2026 at Molapo Leisure Gardens, with gates opening at 1000hrs. Hosted by the Francistown Cultural Ensemble, the event continues to position itself as a family-friendly celebration of Botswana’s culture, heritage and community spirit.

Organisers say Madala Le KellyJess will bring a warm and welcoming performance style that reflects the festival’s emphasis on unity, storytelling and the preservation of indigenous music.

“Madala Le KellyJess represent the heart of traditional music — their songs tell stories of who we are, where we come from and the values that hold families together,” a festival spokesperson said.
Their inclusion adds to a diverse line-up that already features the Francistown Cultural Ensemble, Bhona GNT of Letshwenyo fame, Chokoma, Astley Gops and Tshuma — creating a programme that blends heritage with modern appeal.
Held under the theme , Motse Wa Setso 2026 will also offer indigenous cuisine, cultural exhibitions, family-friendly entertainment and trading opportunities for local vendors and artisans.
Tickets are available through Webtickets and selected local outlets at P100 early bird, P180 double limited and P300 VIP.
With more artists still to be announced, organisers say this year’s festival promises a full day of music, culture and pure good vibes — celebrating Botswana’s roots in the heart of Francistown.
