KNOW YOUR PRESIDENT🥂
Mokgweetsi Masisi is the son of Edison Masisi (1921–2003), the long-time MP for Moshupa and m any-time cabinet member. The younger Masisi grew up in Gaborone, attending Thornhill Primary School and Maru A P**a School. One of his three brothers, Tshelang, was the MP for Francistown West for many years, while another is a retired army general. He also has a sister, Phadi.

In school, Masisi competed in soccer and tennis, but ultimately found acting to be his calling. In 1984, he won acclaim for his portrayal of the lead role in a Gaborone production of Cry the Beloved Country. He has taken part in several South African films.

In the 1980s, Masisi became a high school social studies teacher after graduating from the University of Botswana in 1984 in English and History. He taught at Mmanaana Secondary School in 1984 in Moshupa village before moving on to the University of Botswana in 1987 as a curriculum development specialist.

In 1989, he went to Florida State University to obtain a Master's degree in social sciences education, after Masisi met some FSU faculty members working in Botswana for the Junior Secondary Education Improvement Project. Following graduation, he was employed by UNICEF in Botswana.

Masisi unsuccessfully sought the nomination of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) to stand in Moshupa constituency in the 2004 general election. However, he obtained the BDP nomination for the same seat prior to the 2009 general election and won the seat. He was promptly appointed as Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration in October 2009. After a little more than a year as an assistant minister, he was appointed as Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration in January 2011. Masisi became Minister of Education and Skills Development in an acting capacity in April 2014. He was re-elected to his seat in Parliament in October 2014, and was appointed as Minister of Education and Skills Development on 28 October 2014.Masisi was appointed as Vice President of Botswana by former President Ian Khama on 12 November 2014 while remaining in his post as Minister of Education.

Khama appointed Masisi as the Chancellor of the University of Botswana on July 5, 2017. The appointment, which was in consonance with Section 7 of the University of Botswana Act of 2008, was for a period of five years. It followed the death of former President Quett Masire, who served as the Chancellor.

DID YOU FORGET?
NEVER FORGET!!!

On the 9th of August 2017 Isaac Makwala went through to the 200m semi-finals after successfully negotiating a solo time trial in London.

Our hero was handed a chance to save his World Championships from ruin by the IAAF after being locked out of the stadium the previous night due to illness.

He lined up alone in lane seven and after a clean start comfortably beat the required 20.53 seconds mark set by the governing body to qualify.

Words from His excellency Vladimir Putin through his official page

The effectiveness of the vaccine was tested by one of the President's daughters. According to Putin, on the first day after the vaccination, the temperature rose, but then her condition returned to normal and she got the antibodies in sufficient quantities for immunity from corona virus.
Putin emphasised that vaccination will be voluntary. But he noted that there is no doubt about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

Russia has repeatedly saved the world with its vaccines - it was in Russia where vaccines against cholera, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles and other dangerous diseases were invented.

At the same time, foreign pharmaceutical companies called on Russia not to release the vaccine so early. And here there is no medicine context, it seems that only business is important. Russia won the vaccine race and such a competitor in a profitable business is very uncomfortable. But when it comes to the health of millions of people, Russia has no intention of thinking about money. Vaccination for Russians will be free.

RUSSIA TO RESCUE THE WORLD
https://www.themoscowtimes.com

“Results [from clinical trials] proved the high efficiency and safety of the vaccine,” said Mikhail Murashko, Russia’s health minister. “All volunteers developed high levels of Covid-19 antibodies. At the same time, none of them demonstrated serious complications from the immunisation.”

“I know that it works quite effectively, it forms a stable immunity. I repeat: it has passed all the necessary tests,” he said, adding that his own daughter had already been given the vaccine. Vaccinations of medical workers could begin as soon as this month, said Russian officials.

UNDERSTAND LOVE!!!

Did you know that love actually is blind? And that men are more likely to say “I love you” before their female partner does? Neither did we, the wonderful and mysterious world of falling in love and having feelings for another human being. Love hold so much space not only in our lives, but in our psychology, in our biology, and in our history. Here, we’ve outlined 10 facts about love that will help you to understand it, and maybe even find it in your own life.

1. Eye contact is key.
Some extraordinary research has found that couples who are in love and bond in a romantic relationship synchronize their heart rates after gazing into each others’ eyes for three minutes.

2. Love works fast.
It only takes up to 4 minutes to decide whether you like someone or not.

3. Love can be addictive.
Falling in love is much like taking a dose of co***ne, as both experiences affect the brain similarly and trigger a similar sensation of euphoria. Research found that falling in love produces several euphoria-inducing chemicals that stimulate 12 areas of the brain at the same time.

4. There’s a reason why cuddling feels so good.
Oxytocin, the so-called love or cuddle hormone, is produced during an embrace or cuddle.

5. Your heart can actually break.
Research has provided evidence that intense, traumatizing events, such as a break-up, divorce, loss of a loved one, physical separation from a loved one, or betrayal can cause real physical pains in the area of one’s heart. This condition is called the Broken Heart Syndrome.

6. Biologically, your love changes with time.
It is estimated that romantic love, which is linked with euphoria, dependence, sweaty palms, butterflies and alike, only lasts about a year. After that first year begins the so-called “committed love” stage. The transition is linked with elevated neurotrophin protein levels in newly formed couples.

7. Love goes hand in hand with stress.
Studies show that people at an early stage of love have lower levels of serotonin, which is associated with feelings of happiness and well-being, and higher levels of cortisol, associated with stress.

8. Priorities change when looking for a long term companion.
There’s evidence that when looking for a fling, the body wins over the face on a physical attraction basis. The opposite is true, however, for those who are looking for a long-term relationship partner.

9. Feelings make life that much sweeter.
Researchers looked at a group of people, and found that those who were thinking about love said a specific kind of food was sweeter than those thinking about jealousy or something neutral.

10. Some people can’t feel love.
Some individuals who claim never to have felt romantic love suffer from hypopituitarism, a rare disease that doesn’t allow a person to feel the rapture of love.

OLEBILE SEDUMEDI (MAXY)

Maxy (real name Olebile Sedumedi) is a female artist from Botswana who grew up in a music environment. Best known as Queen of the Sands, her love for music began at a tender age. She has done most genres, from traditional music, pop, to gospel and is a power house that has been likened to the late Brenda Fassie.

Maxy took centre stage and earned her place amongst the country’s leading talented artists as a female vocalist in the country. She soon dominated and became a regular feature on the music scene at festivals, concerts and corporate gigs both locally and abroad.

In 2000 she earned a household name through her Sesarwa song dubbed ‘Kalahari’ (Uwe Uwe). The track became her biggest hit in traditional song history. It had a fair share of launching her in the industry and in 2008 she founded a pop group called Digauta. That same year she released an album called ‘Digauta’ followed by Digauta Vol2 titled ‘Banna Ba Mono’.

Maxy is the first SADC representative to perform at the annual biggest festivals in Africa, Femua 7, in Abidjan and Ivory Coast. In 2004 she moved to South Africa and her relocation almost destroyed her career at the same time trying to maintain a proper posture. Shortly afterwards, a gospel album was released under the late Brenda Fassie’s name but it turned out it was Maxy who sang the songs.
