Lee Eppie 🇧🇼 made his first ever Botswana Senior National team appearance at the 2024 Africa Senior Championships 🇨🇲 where he won🥈 and 🥇 in the men's 400m and 4×400m respectively.

He was also part and parcel of the 🇧🇼 men's 4×400m team that made history at the Paris24 Olympics.

Under the guidance of Coach Lux Koosimile, Tshegofatso Bojosi made her first ever appearance in the Botswana senior national team this year. She made her way into the team through hard work and dedication.

She represented 🇧🇼 at the 2024 Africa senior championships in the women's long jump and finished 6th in the final.

The National Anti Doping Coordinating Office this past Saturday facilitated an anti-doping education session for Lions Den Athletics Club, Ramotswa Athletics Club and Werda Athletics Club. The aim of the session was to create awarness on anti doping rules and regulations, athletes roles and responsibilities, the doping control process, risks and consequences of prohibited substances.

Qualification standards for the 2025 Tokyo World Athletics Championships.

The qualification standards will be achieved by hitting the set entry standards and via world rankings and the qualification window for track and field runs from 1 August 2024 - 24 August 2025.

The event will be held in the Japanese capital from the 13 - 21 September 2025.

NATE Athletics Club officially registered.

The club is based in Gaborone and it is under the leadership of Coach Hadji who holds Level 2- World Athletics coaching course,
Level 2- PARA Coaching, Strength and Conditioning and First aid -Level 2.

"I'm very delighted to have registered this club, it will play a huge role in athletics development in this country"says Coach Hadji

Some of the notable faces within the club are the national team women's 4x400m relay members, Candy Batisane, Golekanye Chikane, the paralympian Gloria Majaga, the 400m hurdlers in Jō G and Given R as well as the 2023 800m & 1500m Botessa Champion Kentse Tshwenyego and his colleague Thabo Metseyabangwe.

NATIONAL STADIUM TEMPORARILY CLOSED FROM DECEMBER 4th 2024 TILL THE END OF MARCH 2025.

The main reason for the closer is to replenish the athletics track which was last replenished in 2018.

That means the track and field meets which were scheduled for the National Stadium will be moved to other venues like the OIC stadium just to mention but a few.
