Culture is a fascination for, especially my own. I enjoy conversations that explore who we are as Batswana and how we can also live within our own authentic expressions, beautifully and differently.

There is an African proverb that says one who eats alone cannot discuss the taste of the food with others. It seems Ednah Rosen had this idea in mind when she documented a great part of what makes us Batswana.

Rosen's cookbook TASTE OF BOTSWANA recently hit the shelves and has become a great kitchen friend in my home. It is her blend of modern and traditional ideas, coupled with beautiful images and captions, that make the recipe book so hard to shelf away.

We talk about her love for cooking, storytelling and further explore food as a language and an act of culture.
