Music and image are interwoven in each aspect and context in Da Pá Virada: a music, photography and video production company, specialized in joining all three together. A result of the joint work of partners Dani Gurgel and Debora Gurgel, Da Pá Virada offers several cultural products and tailored productions. They are constantly focused at music. Both in education, with classes in jazz improvisati

on and composition taught by Debora and Music Photography courses taught by Dani; as in developing unique projects for other artists and companies. Debora Gurgel is a pianist, composer, arranger and educator. She writes for the Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica (Symphonic Jazz Orchestra - São Paulo), the Orquestra Jovem Tom Jobim (Tom Jobim Youth Orchestra – São Paulo), the Lilian Carmona Big Band and the Septeto S/A group. Besides improvisation and composition to all instrumentalists, Debora also teaches piano to private students in São Paulo. Dani Gurgel is a photographer, singer and producer. She is responsible for the photography, video, graphic design and executive production of all Da Pá Virada projects, besides constantly working on creative projects for other artists and companies. The debut album by "Dani & Debora Gurgel Quartet", "Um" (“One”), was released in Japan in collaboration with Rambling Records in 2013, followed by the quartet’s appearance at the 12th Tokyo Jazz Festival, along with artists as Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin, sold out shows in Japanese jazz venues and 4 weeks in the list of top played songs at radio J-WAVE. With support by ProAC (Cultural Action Program from São Paulo’s Secretary of State) for the Brazilian edition, released by Da Pá Virada, they performed in a series of music schools and education centers in 2013. Nicknamed DDG4 by their Japanese fans, they also performed at Sesc Pompeia, a renowned theater in São Paulo, Yoshi’s Oakland, California, the 8º Festival Jazz a la Calle (Uruguay), and the 9º Festival Amazonas Jazz (Amazon State, Brazil). Still in 2014, the quartet will tour 7 cities in Japan, releasing their new album “Luz” ("Light"), the 17º Festival de Jazz del CCPA y Asunción (Paraguay) and Festival Brasilicata (Italy), followed by shows in Spain. Since 2011, Da Pá Virada also produces music content for the internet with the podcast "Música de Graça” (“Free music”), presented by Dani Gurgel, which brings unusual encounters between artists in exclusive recordings of unreleased songs for free download.
