⚡ This Sunday at the studio working on the upcoming single by YELLOW FEVER, "Mother of Satan's Son"!

Cleaning drums leakage, testing ambiances, EQing and summing the room mics... Starting to sound closer to how we want it.

Still a lot of work ahead, so the work on other instruments will continue tomorrow, after exporting the final Master files of the Stygian song I mixed last week.

This weekend at working on some editing and the pre-mix for STYGIAN's new single "Unholy Blade", which was recorded a few weeks ago and I hope will be ready in the coming days.
There's a really cool "raw" organic vibe to the band's epic theme that resembles the early days of NWOBHM where classic metal meets punk attitude.

Tomorrow I'll resume work on the new single by . I'll keep you updated about this one too!

⚡ 2024 RETROSPECTIVE

Whoa! The year of 2024 is over!
And, despite some difficulties, I can assure you: this one has been an astonishing year for Heavytron Studio!

First, I've finished and debuted the live room! And I'm happy to inform most of the strategies I've sketched during the previous years had worked well. Visual, drums, mics, audio-over-IP monitoring.

Then came the bands... And I'll let you know below what I've achieved, or what we're doing (works under progress).

CREATURES
✅ new single "Nothing Lasts Forever 2024" - complete recording (except vocals), mixing+mastering. Released at streaming services and also an official video available on YouTube.
⏺️ new full-length album under recording! Drums, bass and guitars tracked. Vocals coming soon!

PHANTOM STAR
✅ debut Single "Touch of a Curse". Complete recording, mixing+mastering. Available on all streaming services.
✏️ currently working on the pres for the upcoming full-length album to be recorded in the next semester!

YELLOW FEVER
✅ new single "Death Star". Complete recording, mixing and mastering. Available on all streaming services.
⏺️ new single "Mother of Satan's Son" inspired by "Rosemary's Baby". All instruments tracked and edited! On the queue for mix+master!

LEATHER WRATH
✅ debut single "Metal Fist". Complete recording, mixing+mastering. Available on all streaming services. (And dealing a new single for 2025. Stay tuned!)

ESPECTRO
✅ new EP, two songs, for an upcoming 7" vinyl - to be also released on streaming services. Complete recording, mixing and mastering. Just waiting for the vinyl release date!

RAPOZA
⏺️ new single "The Right to S*x" of this hard and heavy band. Drums, bass and vocals recorded. On the queue to record guitars, mix and master.

STYGIAN
⏺️ new single "Unholy Blade" of this early 80s inspired metal group. Recorded and edited. On the queue for mix and master.

LUCAS SHRED
⏺️ new full-length guitar solo album. Self-recorded, I'll have the honor to edit, mix and master. Coming soon!

⚡ Mission accomplished!
Finished tracking the new single by Yellow Fever, "Mother of Satan's Son".

It was a great experience with these amazing guys ⚡

Now we need some time to edit, try some samples/layers, then mix and master it.

Following the promotion of "Death Star", YELLOW FEVER returns to record its new single "Mother of Satan's Son", a theme based on the story of Rosemary's Baby.

All instruments by the trio will be tracked this weekend, November 30th and December 1st.

It was a great weekend here at Heavytron Studio with the guys of Stygian!
A very light session with a lot of laughs and a very positive feeling, as it has to be.
"Unholy Blade" is a rough epic heavy metal theme, and I believe it will turn to a great single ⚔️🔥
Tracking is done.
Now I need some time to deliver some previous work with other bands, so I can focus on the mixing of this hymn ⚡

LEATHER WRATH releases today their debut single "Metal Fist", an exciting traditional heavy metal hymn inspired by mid-80s metal icons and produced in the same style.

The new band is composed of very young and talented musicians getting ready to conquer their space among the great acts of the local metal scene.

The debut single paves the way for the new songs that are being prepared for a larger material expected for 2025, presenting the listeners the band's chosen genre as well as their influences.

The song is available on the main streaming services and the group's Bandcamp profile.

Exactly 2 years ago today, this was Heavytron Studio.
Yep!
Both control and live rooms fit there, now.

There was a lot of sweat (and drywall, insulation, painting, absorbers, cabling, lighting, reading and studying) for the studio to turn into what I wanted: effective sound-wise, and cozy space-wise. Underground bands recording here should feel important (as they are!). They should have a respectful treatment, a pleasant experience, a high-grade audio result inspired by their heroes, and a place they feel comfortable taking photos or videos of the process for their memory (or promotion).

I'm not an heir. It all started with a single board, an M-Audio 2496, back in 2007, so I could use the cheapest copy of Pro Tools I could find then... And I work 2 jobs, 3 periods, study, trade, and build everything I can by myself for this to be possible today.
(Sometimes with a little help from my friends).
And I still pay rent, and probably ever will...

But the studio exists.
It's not perfect, and there's still a lot of work to be done, but I (finally) can watch the result in the bands' releases.
I can finally see the difference it makes.
And it all makes sense!

My values are non-negotiable.
This is no place for f4ac1sm.
This is no place for gospel or country music.
This is no place for "AI" generated content.
This is something made by humans, for humans.
ART is the result. Products are consequences (and means of).

I am really grateful to my wife, for accepting my life moves.
I am really grateful to everyone who has helped my way or trusted my work in all this years.

We recorded his stunning fretless bass lines as well as his backing vocals for the upcoming single "The Right to S*x", by Rapoza ⚡

"The little red box that started a revolution"

Reamp v2 with combo input - the last iteration of John Cuniberti's passive reamp box with high-grade audio transformer before he closed a deal with Radial Engineering for the schematic patents use.

This little devilish thing receives a pre-recorded signal in balanced line level ("high" voltage, low impedance) and converts it to a guitar/bass pickup level (low voltage, high impedance) so it can feed a pedal or amplifier, just like if it was being played at that same instant. It was meant for guitars/basses, but can be used with anything that works in line-levels, like keyboards, samplers or any recordings coming out of an audio interface output. Many possibilities, huh?
