As far as possible from tired clichés and well-covered ground, it is with great pride that we present to you an original and authentic vision of St. In assembling the articles and photo essays for this debut issue of Spirit of St. Barth, we rediscovered some of the wonders and hidden treasures of our beloved island. We were gratified also to find such true St. Barth spirit in the enthusiasm shared

by our partners and all who participated in the creation of this first edition, and we are especially thankful to the advertisers whose faith in us made it possible to bring Spirit of St. We hope the images, observations and recollections you find here remind you not only of the particular places you love on St. Barth, but also of the essence of the island that always draws us back.
