Being massively influenced by his father who has been one of the first professional DJs and studio owners in their home town of Stara Zagora, in post-communist Bulgaria, the teenager Dencho learned how to mix with the very limited available technology at the time whilst supporting the growing popularity of different music trends in many local clubs. He has quickly become a big part of the nightlif
e by making a lot of friends and going to fashionable nightclubs. As Bulgaria was introduced to western culture and music significantly late, the music bars and nightclubs have been at their peak. Being no exception from the rest of the youngsters, Dencho has gone through a lot of music genres, like disco, R&B, Hip Hop and even rock music. However, he has always kept his love for Bulgarian traditional folklore music which later contributed to one of the most recognisable remixes that he has released ‘Prituri se Planinata’ (The Mountain Overturn) sung in the original version by one of the most famous Bulgarian folklore singers Stefka Sabotinova. Barely 15 years old, he gained his first Dj residency at the ‘Vodoo’ club, followed by many other attractive clubs in Stara Zagora playing predominantly the popular, hit music in Bulgaria up until the year 2000. Having to move to Germany, one day he accidentally stumbled across a record shop and instead of getting a house plant for the new place he was living with his girlfriend at the time, after spending the whole day at the shop he arrived with a case full of records consisting mainly of electronic music and the rest is history. He has become so immersed in the sound that he decided that the
exploration of new tracks and different artists should not stop here. Within his first big electronic music influences are John Digweed, Nick Warren, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo. Falling in love with progressive house and even some trance records he gradually developed his style which transits between progressive house, ethereal techno and ambient. His talent for finding amazing vocals has made him one of the most recognisable DJs in Bulgaria. Alongside his undeniable talent, his friendly personality and his exceptional attention to detail, he managed to create a fantastic circle of artists from Bulgaria and abroad some of which turned into great music collaborations. Later on, he found the project Reverse which was strictly dedicated to electronic music and was a leader in organising and promoting the biggest events in the central part of Bulgaria. His Sunday residency in dance club Mania will remain an unforgettable experience for many. RELEASES:
