We are happy to present to you Romfeya Foundation from Bulgaria, whose aim is to promote the cultural and historical heritage of our country, and in particular the Vatevi Collection named From Stone to Gunpowder. The collection includes over 4 000 items of prehistoric, antique and medieval arms and equipment collected by the family for three generations. The Foundation was established in 2012 and
its manager and owner of the collection is Mr. Thanks to his good intentions and ambition, the collection received public acceptance and each artefact in it was duly identified and registered at the Regional Archeological Museum Plovdiv – the oldest in Bulgaria. The founder of the collection was his late father – Ivan Vatev. His collector’s efforts and idea to preserve the Bulgarian cultural heritage mark the beginning of the collection in the 1940’s. Nowadays, the two sons of Mr. Boyko Vatev – Ivan and Dimitar Vatevi, are committed to the popularisation of the Vatevi Collection.
