Salome Adaidu: Police arraign gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi for m¥rder

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arraigned gospel singer, Timilehin Ajayi in court for murder of Salome Adaidu.

Ajayi dismembered Salome, who he claimed to be his girlfriend, when she visited him at his house in the Papalana axis at New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The 32-year-old suspect arrived at the Nasarawa State High Court in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital on Friday, January 17. 2025.

He was arraigned on one count charge of Culpable Homicide punishable with Death, contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

The court ordered that the suspect be remanded in a correctional facility, Lafia pending formal arraignment on a date to be assigned.

Prior to her gruesome murder, the 24-year-old victim was a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja.

Ajayi was nabbed on Sunday, January 12, while trying to dispose of the head of Salome after killing her and dismembering her body parts.

Burkina Faso has banned colonial-era judicial wigs, embracing cultural identity and advancing efforts to decolonise the nation’s legal system.

Burkina Faso’s President, Ibrahim Traoré, has officially prohibited judges from wearing British and French colonial-era wigs, in a landmark effort to decolonise the nation’s judiciary.

In making the announcement, President Traoré emphasised the need to abandon colonial-era customs and adopt practices that honour Burkina Faso’s cultural identity.

The measure aligns with his wider initiative to strengthen national identity and affirm the country’s independence from foreign influences. The colonial wigs, which have historically represented external control within African judicial systems, are now being set aside.

Apparently when P-Square told Akon that they had signed May-D, the contract wasn't done yet and May-D turned down the contract with P-Square thinking that Akon will sign him but Akon refused to sign him on grounds that he can't sign an entitled grēedy artiste who will bētray him and leave when he eventually becomes big without generating enough profits. 😩

Singer Spyro continues to call out talent manager, Ubi Franklin over the $5000 he was promised for performing at a birthday party in Ghana Spyro had said in a recent interview, that Ubi used singer, Davido’s name to secure a performance deal but failed to pay him after the event. In response, Ubi said that Spyro owes him a commission of 10% from a car purchase he assisted in facilitating. He said he is willing to pay the 5,000 only if the singer pays him the commission.
