"Turboslak" is MOTSUS completing the circle. After the razor-fast urgency of "Short Notice" and the hypnotic drift of "Driver", this is the band's heaviest statement yet—a five-and-a-half-minute crusher that marks both an ending and a beginning.

The name itself—Dutch slang for something thick, sludgy, unstoppable—says it all. This is polder doom at its most visceral. Grooves that lumber like tectonic shifts, riffs thick enough to bend gravity, and a relentless forward momentum that refuses to stop. No psychedelic detours here. Just raw, unfiltered heaviness.

Following "Short Notice's" speed and "Driver's" meditation, "Turboslak" reveals the closing chapter of MOTSUS's evolution: they've traveled from urgency through drift to arrive at pure, crushing presence. Like the interstellar objects that inspired "Oumuamua" and now "ATLAS", the journey ends where it began—grounded, heavy, inevitable.

Recorded at Dunk!Studio's in Zottegem and mixed & mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén, with artwork by guitarist Tom Maene.

The full album "ATLAS" drops January 30th, 2026 followed up with a release show at Muziekclub 4AD on January 31st, 2026.

Once again, Alcatraz is turning black, yellow, and red. In 2026, approximately 20% of the total lineup will again consist of 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀.

Over 120 top acts will be performing at Alcatraz in 2026, including 𝟮𝟲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀.

We feel it’s only logical to announce each of them individually, alongside the usual barrage of international artists who will rock the stage in Kortrijk next August. With the exception of the winner of the Rock Tribune Bash, no fewer than 24 Belgian bands are already announced for 2026. Half of them will be performing at Alcatraz for the first time.

We are proud of the talent and quality our small country produces and in addition it’s simply cool to be able to showcase all those logos on a single bill for once.

MOTSUS - "SHORT NOTICE" (SINGLE)

After a year of silence, the freight train returns—and this time, it's moving fast.

"Short Notice" is MOTSUS at their most urgent. A live staple since the band's early days, this razor-sharp ripper has been played at every single show but never captured on record—until now. Recorded at Dunk!Studio's in Zottegem and mixed & mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén, the track finally gets the studio treatment it deserves.

At just over two minutes, "Short Notice" is the shortest song MOTSUS have ever written. It's proof that the Oudenburg trio aren't just masters of crushing, dead-slow doom—they can shift gears and stampede when the moment calls for it. Think of it as the perfect bridge between the interstellar heaviness of 2018's "Oumuamua" and the bold new territory explored on "ATLAS."
