The last few years, Hedonist laid down low for various reasons (mainly other projects and a little thing called covid…), but the beast was far from dead, just sleeping and slumbering below the surface. During the summer of 2023, the new record “Eat Thus” was recorded at Studio Jupiter with the help of sound wizard Koenraad Foesters (ex-Rhinos Are People Too). Eight blistering new tracks, more mature and sophisticated than before, but still relentlessly rocking and fueled with a rather large dose of high octane. With sheer power houses like ‘Dirtscraper’ and first single ‘Golden Voodoo Witch’, straight up anthems like ‘Just Start Kicking’ and the short but sweet Karma To Burn-inspired rocker ‘Warrior’ and the unforgiving riff attack of ‘Kryszty C’, ‘Eat Thus’ is an album that will eat you alive, spit you out and then eat you again! So brace yourselves, take it in and witness the madness wherever and whenever you can!

Hedonist, a hard rockin’, hard groovin’ power trio from Genk, formed in the summer of 2010 when Roel Paulussen (K’pow, Hando Yahama, ex- SardoniS , ex-solenoid, ex-Barabbas) and Frederik “Cozy” Cosemans (Hemelbestormer, Rituals Of The Dead hand, ex-Serpentcult, ex-Death Penalty) decided to have a few jams together. Riffs and songs kept pouring out and soon a third party jumped on the train to wreak havoc upon the land. The thunderous bass and roaring vocals of Frank “Frenz” Homolka (The Killbots, ex-Solenoid) were the perfect fit for Cozy’s maniacal beats and Roel’s neckbreaking axework and so the “power of three” was complete.

On their first release, a split with stoner/sludge giants Your Highness, Hedonist delivered an exciting, energetic and compelling mix of Motörhead, High On Fire, Karma To Burn and Monster Magnet that suckerpunched audiences straight in the face. No nonsense, no bullsh*t, no fancy gimmicks, just pure, honest, kick-ass rock-n’-roll.

In the year 2016, the time came to release the equally staggering full length “The Collapse”. Once again recorded at Studio Jonathas under the watchful eye of Xavier Carion (ex-Channel Zero, Sons Of Jonathas, …) “The Collapse” was nothing more than the equivalent of a battering ram. From the pounding opener “The Urge”, to the monstrous sludge assault of “Black Lungs” (featuring Ben from Your Highness on vocals) and the swampy, bluesy heaviness of “Beecher”, Hedonist simply went all the way on this one and delivered thirty-seven minutes of sheer rockin’ mayhem. All killer, absolutely no filler! Numerous shows with acts like Crowbar, Karma To Burn, Weedeater, Phill Campell And The Bastard Sons, Tank 86, Your Highness, Tangled Horns and Cowboys And Aliens followed, stages were thrashed, audiences were rocked.

What a year! Slowing down? Not a chance—MOULD took care of that with their killer debut album, "Pull & Repulsion"! Craving some fast rock ‘n’ roll riffs? The Killbots delivered with their return and my very first 10" pressing! And wow 🤯 - it's been almost a year - but grunge/pop/sludge kings Tangled Horns nailed it on 'lighter', while The RG's transformation into Scrape music was immortalized on a single-sided 12" with silkscreened B-side.

Mantah finally got the vinyl treatment they deserved for their self-released debut (can't wait for new tunes)! Oh, and Gnome's “King” saw a 4th(!) pressing, setting the stage perfectly for their latest album, "Vestiges of Verumex Visidrome".

To top it all off, stoner/sludge legends Your Highness - crushed it yet again with their fourth studio album "Under The Weight", celebrating 15 years of colossal riffs. What a time to be alive!

Dear Gnomes and Gnomettes, it's been a wonderful year in the gnomeverse with great reactions to our new album, a successful tour, our biggest shows yet, playing in new countries, and meeting tons of sweet people on the road.
