Antarctica Records

Antarctica Records Record label of contemporary classical music.

Genetically, the new label Antarctica may be a daughter of Evil Penguin Classic, but in actual reality it is the Penguin’s biotope and playground. Antarctica is a landing place for rare line-ups (such as the four violoncellos of the Tansman Quartett, the new label’s first-born), but also a breeding ground for unusual one-offs and experiments (such as baroque ensemble Red Herring’s exploration of b

aroque gestures in French music). Since Antarctica prefers projects to persons, it will be a safe haven for daredevils, a home to repertoire oozing from the corners and creases of music history.

Clothes of Sand by K L A N G c o ll e c t i v e — a quiet homage to a songwriter who spoke in whispers and left a lasting echo through his lyrics

Today, we're remembering Nick Drake, who passed away on this day in 1974. He was only 26 years old but his music has inspired many, including us. Our album, D O W L N D R A K E, is partly a tribute to this incredible singer-songwriter whose delicate voice and poetic melancholy reshaped folk music. 🕊

After the peacefully reflective cloud gazing with 𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘚𝘦𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘴, 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, we're thrilled to announce the first single of Mattias Devriendt's upcoming album 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘜𝘱, 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺.

Matthias Devriendt presents a piece that immerses the listener in a dreamlike world. 𝘞𝘦, 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘵 is fragile and expressive in every nuance. It is a personal expression that speaks directly to the listener.

Hans-Dieter Grünefeld for Piano News: "With their interpretation of Franz Liszt's ‘Hungarian Rhapsody,’ Chloë and Camille Beniest, the Flemish C-Sisters, triumphed at the Princess Christina Competition en bravura. The recording of this work for their debut album confirms the high pianistic level of the two young women, as they confidently navigate the relaxed prelude to the organically following Csardas and its precisely felt lively temperament."
