The Beginning.

Former BlazHoffski Belgium founder Geert Willems and the company Head of R&D Muriël Maebe are teaming up with Belgian actor and singer Wim Opbrouck to launch new production company Free Kings. Willems and Maebe have left BlazHoffski Belgium which ceases to exists in Belgium after producing more than 10 years for Belgian broadcasters. It was part of Dutch production company BlazHoffski Nederland, which is part of Warner Bros. since 2011. Free Kings will produce the second season of the Belgian version of UK format ‘The Great British Bake Off’, which is hosted by Opbrouck for Belgian network Vier. Free Kings wants to make “inspiring television for a broad audience”. The company will focus on TV shows, but also wants to work on other media activities such as online content, commercials, event entertainment and acting as a publisher. Free Kings, based in Mechelen, Belgium, is also looking for (international) partnerships, and will also bring international formats to the Belgian market.
