WHAT WILL THE FUTURE BRING FOR Unfinished Monkeys ?

For 2024 we dedicate to keeping our philosophy of releasing progressive and cutting edge electronic music. In a world that is rapidly changing thanks to AI, Blockchain technology and the collaps of the old paradigms we will set to investigate how to maintain a healthy balance between local scene support and international collaboration of real human and peer to peer creativity.

Our first few projects are the Tribal Bass sample pack and more upcoming TB releases.
We will then set-up a competition for the best production made with the sample pack and we will do a release of the best contestants.

New UMR and Tribal Bass merchandise among which T shirts and wooden usb sticks will drop later this year.

We plan to set up another TRIBE event in summer, hopefully collaborating again with wonderful artists and crews.

Possibly we'll start running showcase-nights with one major live act each and then some local dj support.

We may expand the landing page into a website with more info on our label, the artists and the events.

We hope you all wanna join us for this crazy ride. So much has changed since 2007 and we keep embracing these changes in order to support the true community of mind-expanding electronic music.

UMR64 Panoptics - Dark Light

Panoptics is the virtual playground of Hentopan (Be) and DistalVision (Aus), in which they let their individual styles and inspirations collide into global creative collaborations. DistalVisions trance-inducing cold edged psy-tech style gets organically remixed into creamy lo-fi Acid Trap by Hentopan and visa versa and together they create downtempo and world electronic music as well as heavier dance vibes.

Dark Light is the second official EP of Panoptics in which they further explore and define their style of progressive dance and trance music for the global cyber-nomad generation.

Dark Light is a story of integration and balance, where dark and light meat, where life offers more than a single flat character story but is in fact a spectrum of multi-colored infinite light particles in which we navigate with an often confused or diffused mind. The album references tribal cultures and sci-fi movies and specifically the dillusion of 'time' as a singular dimension, in order to create a timeless space for audio enjoyment and inner-space traveling.

Because of some issues with DistroKid, some of our releases were no longer on streaming platforms.

We're now adding all releases to another distributor that we have far batter experience with.

2023 is coming to a close. Since we had a few Tribal Bass events, we focussed a bit less on releasing many EP's. However we released some quality stuff this year, so we're still proud of our accomplishments.

In 2024 we will release the first Tribal Bass sample pack , a lot of ep's and albums and we may even bring some new projects to our meditative sublabel STAM!

UMR64 Panoptics - Dark Light

This mini album by multi-genre duo Panoptics (Benjamin Schaar and Christoffel Hendrickx) features re-masters of one previously released track from a VA on Tribal Bass and one unreleased single from 2021 AND two brand new tracks in two versions.

Hentopan and DistalVision have been collaborating for some years now. They each have a very distinct style of sound design and music production which makes their collaborations very unique and groundbreaking. They push the envelopes of psychedelic and bass music and bring a contemporary expression to ancient musical themes and spiritual concepts.
