Congratulations to Cisl Milano Metropoli Social for the great work they did in the framework of the project!
It was yesterday in Roma awarded by the UNHCR - the UN Refugee Agency for the placement of seven refugees in the city's McDonald's restaurants!

This recognition is very encouraging for the continuity of the UnionMigrantNet work carried out for the integration and inclusion of refugees and migrants in our societies and in the labour market!

"It has been a long road – three years of implementation of your activities – with the COVID crisis in the middle, and the war in Ukraine which brought new challenges with the labour market integration of millions of refugees in Europe. 18 partners including trade unions, local authorities, research institutions, NGOs have been part of this long journey.
"The labour market integration of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees is the flagship of the European trade union agenda on migration and asylum. With this project, the ETUC took a further stand for the protection of migrants’ rights and their integration in Europe.
"Thanks to this project, we enhanced the already existing Unionmigrantnet by working in partnership with key actors for the integration of migrants, such as the local and regional authorities. We have worked in partnership with Milan, Pordenone, Liege, Sofia, Athens and Ljubljana.
"As you know, the UnionMigrantNet was set up in 2013 as the European network of trade unions, organisations and associations of migrants promoted by trade unions, providing assistance to migrants with a double-folded feature of being an instrument for cooperation among its members and a source of information and support for the migrant population through its contact points. We have now an updated portal with 185 contact points that support migrants and refugees for free in almost all European countries"

This guide is an alphabet about work for me! All the most important things in one place, when I don't have time to go and ask at a one-stop-shop. The tips are also in English, so it's easier for me to understand. Important words are highlighted, so I can learn them more easily in Slovenian. My six-year-old daughter often picks up the book and colors the illustrations. Along the way, she asks me and comments on the drawing! The last time she said to my husband: "Dad, check here, did you do well at work!" M. J.

The final conference of the Unionmigrantnet project took place in Liege, on Tuesday 18th October 2022.
Alongside the Mayor of Liège, W***y Demeyer, Ludovic Voet opened the debates on the inclusion of third country workers through the social economy and local integration measures.
A diverse panel took the floor on 2 topics: how a third-place and a communal citizenship card could help to integrate migrants into the labour market?
Different experts took the floor: Honorine Kuete from the University of Liège, Vicente Balseca from the association Interra, Jean-Michel Nzigyie from Le Monde des Possibles, Richard Ovono from Rographi, Alice Clarebout from CEDEM, Joachim Debelder from IRFAM, and Mehmet Aydogu, municipal councillor for culture and interculturality in Liège.
The debates were moderated by Laura Lentini, from CNCD 11.11.11., and co-organised by Monde des Possibles, the City of Liège, CEPAG and the Collectif Liège Hospitalière.
63 people were present in the audience, in the beautiful Cité Miroir of the CAL of Liège.
On the agenda for the future: considering the implementation of a third place and a Carte Communale in Liège!

and Cities Together for Integration of TCNs & Athens International Final Conference: “Exploring the gender perspective of TCNs’ integration in the labor market”

The conference took place in Athens after 3 years of fruitful cooperation among international and local partners as Trade unions, Public authorities and Civil Society Organisations. It was an opportunity of sharing stories, experiences and collaborative partnerships together with personal dimensions intersecting fields on migration, integration and gender.

Representatives of ETUC, Greek and International Public authorities and UnionMigrantNet National Contact Points’ members from Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Slovenia shared their opinions live and remotely. Also attending were representatives of Public authorities and CSOs based in Athens.

This conference was hosted by the City of Athens at Serafio and it is co-organized with EKA, the Athens Labor Union Organisation.
