Dearest amigo Jef, I can't really remember the last time we spoke....at OLT some summer(s) ago! I went away, talking to ghosts in the desert of Murcia! For a long time I thought you were back on your feet with your everlasting punching spirit on 'smoelenboek'! Our generation, we were the last to fight our way thru the music business! We really showed them! We always did pretend we were free to roam! Untouchable! The stuff u did @ Arenberg-OLT, the stuff we did @ Munich Records and WasteMyRecords, we were each other's fan! And how much difference did we really make? I thought you were doing ok, that everything was better, cause there is no better man! I am fu***ng tired of losing all my music amigos! All the good ones are gone, only the evil ones like me remain! Goddamn Jef!

Amigos of WMR, tonite we are having the annual self fullfilling Music Industry Awards and let's pray Warhaus (album/alternative/composer) + Jasper Maekelberg (producer) take it all home! One band you won't see at the Mia Awards tonite, is young Antwerp jazz/funk/fusion ensemble Unfinished Business. Their jazzy funky grooves will be heard @ De Roma on February 4th! Unfortunately the show is completely SOLD OUT ! So u won't see them live @ de Roma neither :-) But more shows to come Unfinished Business .... check it out!

Unfinished Business is een band bestaande uit 5 jonge muzikanten die elkaar leerden kennen aan het Conservatorium van Antwerpen. De muziek die zij maken is ontstaan uit een mix van invloeden uit jazz, rock, funk en fusion. Improvisatie en interactie staan steeds centraal.

I will Waste A 1000 Thx to Tom Vekemans & Gert Van Overloop @ OLT 2013 for believing & All our bands @ Waste My Records for performing that night & creating magic on stage & on masters by all WasteMyRecords bands! HINEININTERPRETIERUNG was a selection of Songs celebrating DAAU's 25 years Anniversary at the time & HINEININTERPRIETIERING was their last victory march! But DAAU is back to return the favour! "Musik fur Animierten Tonspurfilm" a film by Rudy Trouve /Music by DAAU /Autumn 2023, unfortunately not on Antwerp's finest label, we have retired! Amigos of WMR, sometimes there are things u miss although the sun and mountains of Murcia gave me everything! Not the cold rainy days, warm beer or cold women, but real authentic festivals like Roots & Roses Festival-Lessines, Belgium. Just across the flemish border where beer is locally brewed and served ice cold in bottles, where people can be free and loaded, where everybody knows everybody or at least pretend, havin' a great time where rock & roll still means something..... thats what I miss the most! So, Amigos, my advice? U know where to go! Whatever it takes!

2002 a new sound reached the Munich Records office: a singer songwriter called Nona Mez! JM and me were completely starstruck! Who was this new kid living in Leuven? A voice like Elliot Smith, Nick Drake and Jason Molina moods, downbeat beauty! Only one meeting as we signed Geert Maris aka Nona Mez @ Munich Records! 3 albums of sheer beauty! The best reviews!
2022 got a call in Scotland from my good amigo Milow saying Nona Mez joined eternal life! It’s quiet now! Too many dead singers in 1 tree! This Friday we celebrate the songs of Nona Mez in Het Depot, impossible to cover but who am I? A celebration would be nice!

Amigos of WasteMyRecords, a small suggestion we are free to make and yes we know, there are too many festivals to attend and too little money to spend, but one festival we must not forget : the true Roots & Roses Festival-Lessines, Belgium @ Lessines (30/4 - 1/5/2022) featuring ex Munich Records legends Giant Sand & The Limiñanas!

This festival is the real thing, with real music for real music fans, always a few steps ahead and with the good taste of Wallonia in bottled beers powered by the finest local breweries!
