Lice or Ice?

Intercontinental Exchange® (ICE) was founded in 2000 to digitize the energy markets and provide greater price transparency.

The identity is a key example of why logos need to be vetted for single-color applications. While it's clean, simple, and solid, the loss of color creates a problem. It is really important for a logo to work in single-color use cases too. The blue makes all the difference but for some printed/copied materials that lose the color, Lice becomes apparent.

It is extremely important when designing your logo to keep in mind what it looks like in all use cases.

Did You Know?

The British Royal family deserves commendation for their successful branding prowess. They effectively used new mass media tools that emerged over the course of the queen's 70-year reign, from radio broadcasts to televised addresses. The Royal Mint and Royal Mail ensured her face was on coins and stamps, making her omnipresent. As an institution, the Royal family has orchestrated pageantry around major events like weddings and the Queen’s Jubilee. It has also created rules about how the Queen’s image and symbols can be deployed by other companies, thereby tightly controlling how she is represented. All of these branding efforts appeared to work: While support for the monarchy has been on the decline in Britain, the Queen herself was highly popular and will remain so in years to come!

We are proud to have worked on Uttaran’s new logo as part of the ongoing evolution of the organization’s brand. The organization has grown and evolved over the last 37 years, and it was time for a change. We have refreshed the logo to reflect who the organization represents today and to symbolize the future. After careful consideration, the new logo was designed to reflect a modern look and capture the organization's vision of creating a society with gender, class and caste equality.

The icon, just like before, contains a circle with a female and a male farmer working side by side in a cropland. The vibrant and energetic Uttaran orange symbolizes a brighter future, free of violence. It serves as a means of demonstrating one’s solidarity in eliminating all forms of violence and is also used as the color of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Uttaran orange not only radiates positivity, strength, and happiness it also stimulates optimism, creativity, and a drive to do better.

Uttaran wishes to convey the same sentiments with its transformative and inclusive interventions and keep building on the dynamic relationship it has with the community, its diverse partners, and all wishers.

৩৭ বছর বয়সী আমাদের এই প্রতিষ্ঠান বিভিন্ন চড়াই উৎরাই অতিক্রম করে সফলতার সাথে বর্তমান আধুনিক বিশ্বের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলছে । উত্তরণের এই বিবর্তনের একটি অংশ হিসেবে এর নতুন লোগো লঞ্চ করার ঘোষণা দিতে পেরে আমরা আনন্দিত ও গর্বিত। অত্যন্ত সতর্কতার সাথে বিবেচনা করার পর, আমরা এমন একটি নতুন লোগো বেছে নিয়েছি যা আধুনিক বিশ্বের সাথে খাপ খাইয়ে নেয়ার পাশাপাশি লিঙ্গ, বর্ণ এবং শ্রেণী সমতা বিশিষ্ট একটি নতুন সমাজ গঠনের আমাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি ও ধারন করে।
মনোগ্রামটিতে ঠিক আগের মতোই একটি বৃত্ত রয়েছে যেখানে একজন পুরুষ এবং একজন মহিলা কৃষক একটি ফসলী জমিতে পাশাপাশি কাজ করছেন। প্রাণবন্ত এবং উদ্যমী উত্তরণের কমলা রং একটি উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যতের প্রতীক যেখানে সহিংসতার কোন স্থান নেই।নারীর বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতা নির্মূলের আন্তর্জাতিক দিবসের রঙ হিসাবেও ব্যবহৃত হয় এই কমলা রঙটি। উত্তরণের কমলা রঙটি শুধুমাত্র ইতিবাচকতা, শক্তি এবং আনন্দের প্রতীক ই নয়, বরং এই রঙটি আশাবাদ, সৃজনশীলতা এবং আরও ভাল করার একটি অনুপ্রেরনা। উত্তরণ তার রূপান্তরমূলক এবং অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে এই একই অনুভূতিগুলো সবার মাঝে ছড়িয়ে দিতে চায় এবং বিভিন্ন ধরনের অংশীদারের সাথে এর সম্পর্ক আরও মজবুত করতে চায়। উত্তরণের এই পরিবর্তনে আশা করছি আপনারা আমাদের পাশেই থাকবেন।

Did you find the difference between 2014 vs 2022?

For the first time in eight years, the iconic Google Chrome logo has been reworked! Not noticing any changes? You're not alone. While many brands go for a revolutionary approach, ​evolution​ is working with the same foundation and pulling out pieces to remodel. It is much more nuanced. All elements of the brand need to be reviewed to determine what stays and what goes. The change could be a small refinement to colour or a larger overhaul in communication and messaging hierarchy. At the end of the day, the consumer will be able to make a connection from the brand before, to the brand after.

The chrome logo performs well on all platforms including mobile, big to small devices,
but they wanted to make changes using an evolutionary approach, Elvin Hu, the Chrome designer mentions that the logo was made simpler by flattening the logo and eliminating an unpleasant colour vibration making it more minimalistic.

Very Peri is described as “a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone that blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red”.
