এই ইতিহাসই প্রমাণ করে যে সিলেটের নিজস্ব একটি আলাদা জাতিগত পরিচয় এবং ভাষা রয়েছে, যা বাংলার সাথে সংযুক্ত নয় বরং একটি স্বাধীন সত্তা হিসেবে গড়ে উঠেছে।
