Me: I have a strong interest in it, and I wanted to enrich my English skills, so I chose it.

Me: Because it is an honorable profession.
Sir: But it has a low salary. Why did you still choose it?
Me: It will allow me to stay in close contact with society and share my knowledge with others.

Me: A good teacher must have a strong understanding of their subject, patience, and the ability to inspire and engage with students.

Sir: What is a dramatic monologue?
Me: It is a literary form in which a single speaker addresses a silent listener.

Sir: You didn’t include আজ রাতে (tonight).
Me: Sorry, sir. I will go home by train tonight.

1. What is Modal?
A modal is a type of auxiliary (helping) verb that expresses necessity, possibility, ability, permission, or other conditions.
Example: can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will, would.

2. What is the function of a modal? Give an example using modal.
Modals help express a speaker's attitude or the likelihood of an action happening. They indicate ability, possibility, permission, obligation, or advice.
Example: You must finish your homework on time.

3. What is the difference between modal and primary function?

Modals: These auxiliary verbs modify the meaning of the main verb by expressing necessity, possibility, permission, or ability. Examples: can, must.

Primary Auxiliaries: These include be, do, and have, which are used to form tenses, questions, or negations without modifying the meaning. Example: I am writing a letter.

4. Give an example of both:

Modal: She might come to the party.

Primary Auxiliary: She is coming to the party.

5. "Don't do it." What type of sentence is it?
It is an imperative sentence as it gives a command or instruction.

6. How many types of sentences are there in structure?
There are four types of sentences based on structure:

Simple sentence: Contains one independent clause.

Compound sentence: Contains two or more independent clauses joined by a conjunction.

Complex sentence: Contains one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.

Compound-complex sentence: Contains two or more independent clauses and at least one dependent clause.

7. Now what type of sentence is "Don’t do it"?
It is still an imperative sentence (negative form).

8. Change it into complex:
Don’t do it → You should not do it because it is wrong.

What is a part of speech?

The main parts of speech are:

Example: dog, school, happiness.

2. Pronoun: Replaces a noun to avoid repetition.

4. Adjective: Describes or modifies a noun or pronoun.
Example: beautiful, tall, interesting.

5. Adverb: Modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb, often indicating how, when, where, or to what extent.
Example: quickly, very, yesterday.

6. Preposition: Shows the relationship between a noun (or pronoun) and other words in a sentence.
Example: on, under, with.

7. Conjunction: Connects words, phrases, or clauses.

Sir: What is your district famous for?
~ The place I live is famous for different reasons. One is for its natural beauty, another is for some famous persons like Ex Land minister Mosarof Hossain, Salam Talukder and Amzad Hossain.

Sir: Add a tag question to "I hardly go to school."
~I hardly go to school, do I?

Sir: What is the difference between hardly and hard?
~Hard: It means "with great effort" or "difficult"to break or do and it can also be used as an adjective or adverb.
Hardly: It means "almost not" or "barely" and is only used as an adverb.

Sir: Translate "I study hard" into Bengali.
~আমি কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে পড়াশোনা করি।

Sir: Which part of speech is hard used as here?
~Here, hard is used as an adverb.

Sir: এখানে hard এজেটিভ হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়নি ইংলিশ এ ট্রান্সলেশন করুন।
~Why is hard not used as an adjective here?

Sir: What is the difference between last and latest in English?
~Last: Refers to something that came before all others or is final.
Latest: Refers to the most recent or newest.

Sir: Make two sentences with last and latest.
~Last: This is the last chapter of the book.
Latest: Have you seen the latest movie in the series?

Sir: Okay, you may leave now.
~Thank you, sir.

What is a causative verb???

Causative verbs often express actions that are done indirectly or by another person on behalf of the subject. Common causative verbs include make, have, get, let, and help.

Types of Causative Verbs

1. Make

This causative verb indicates compulsion or forcing someone to do something.

Structure: Subject + make + object + base form of verb

Example: The teacher made the students complete the assignment.

2. Have

"Have" implies giving instructions or arranging for someone to do something.

Structure: Subject + have + object + base form of verb

Example: I had the mechanic fix my car.

3. Get

This causative verb is used to show persuasion or encouragement.

Structure: Subject + get + object + to + base form of verb

Example: She got her brother to help her with the project.

4. Let

"Let" is used to allow or permit someone to do something.
