If you haven't started using LinkedIn to share content yet, it's high time you get on board. The career-networking site has 303 million active monthly users, and it's the number-one place for B2B content marketing, which means you simply can't afford not to get that type of exposure.

Sure, it can seem challenging. With so many social-media profiles and so much to create on top of delivering for clients and customers, LinkedIn can feel like one more chore on the to-do list. Except it may be the most important "chore" you can do for your visibility and business.

Influencer and strategist Shay Rowbottom got her start on LinkedIn by creating content, and to date has made in excess of seven figures from publishing on the site. Now, she coaches clients in doing the same, helping them garner thousands of followers and millions of video views.

For Rowbottom, it all started in May 2018, when she began creating short videos to share on her LinkedIn profile to promote her Facebook agency. After setting up your YouTube Channel page, it will look pretty barren when you first access it. It will display your profile photo, name and a few details, like your latest activity, date joined, age and country.

Near the top-left corner of the screen is the "Channel Settings" button. Click on this to begin customizing your YouTube Channel. Here, you can fully customize the visual appearance of your channel's page. By default, the "Appearance" tab (near the top-left corner of the screen) has been selected. Click on the "Accept" button to confirm your selection after you're done making your customizations.

Under the "Background" heading, you can upload a digital photo or a graphic image you create or edit using Adobe Photoshop or another graphics program to serve as your channel page's background wallpaper by clicking on the "Choose File" button. Or simply choose a solid color background by clicking on the "Choose a Color" option, and then clicking on your desired background color.

When selecting a photo to use as a background, be sure you own the rights to the image or photo you'll be using. Otherwise, you could get into trouble for copyright violations.

On September 20, the Google-owned platform YouTube unveiled "Made on YouTube," which discussed how it would compensate its new short-form creators, namely by lowering barriers to making money and aiming to give creators a larger share of the profits.

"We're announcing more ways for creators to become partners, new ways to make money with Shorts, and a reimagining of how the music industry and creators work together," the company wrote at the time.

The new policies would allow people to start monetizing videos earlier, at 1,000 subscribers and 10 million views over 90 days, the company said. For regular YouTubers, the threshold is 4,000 watched hours over 12 months and 1,000 subscribers.

TikTok came onto the scene in 2016 and soared in popularity during the pandemic, pushing Meta's Facebook and Instagram to focus on short-form video. Last year, the company said it had more than 1 billion daily active users.

YouTube plans to gain some ground by bringing a host of short-term creators to the platform and see if their videos become more YouTube-like, a.k.a. longer, and thus more profitable for everyone as time goes on, Insider reported.

The concept behind the YouTube Partner program is simple:

You create and publish videos on your YouTube Channel, then do what's necessary to build an audience for them. Each time someone views one of your videos, either a banner display ad (called an "Overlay InVideo" ad) is displayed within the video window, or a short TV commercial-style ad is played prior to your video playing. Plus, banner ads are automatically displayed on your YouTube channel page.

Each time someone views, clicks on or watches a video-based ad on your YouTube Channel, you earn a little revenue. How much you earn depends on a variety of criteria, including the type of ad that's seen or responded to by the viewer.

Becoming a YouTube Partner costs nothing and is totally optional. One of the biggest benefits to becoming a YouTube Partner is that Google handles all the advertising placement, revenue collections and your payments. Once you become part of the program, Google matches up your videos with advertisers, decides what ads will appear, and keeps track of all traffic (views), as well as ad responses. She had begun to grow frustrated with online dating when, on the evening of July 14, 2015, she wore a tight top to a first date and saw the man eyeing her "food baby." Embarrassed, she went home and teared up, searching for stomach toning tips online. After discovering that eating a healthy breakfast was a top tip, she decided to give it a go.

"I said, "I'm going to try this because I'm going to look after myself -- and screw all guys!'" she says. She resolved to focus on being happy while single -- and to eat healthy for herself and no one else.

Kazan, who goes by on Instagram, has more than 600,000 followers and is known for her creatively-topped smoothie bowls, geometric fruit shapes and wildly colorful breakfasts. But before sharing her food art on social media, she rarely ate breakfast -- resulting in feeling distracted most mornings at work. She would regularly ask her co-workers to grab lunch at 11 a.m. -- and they always said it was too early.

In Kazan's line of work, focus is vital. She's a postdoctoral research fellow at University College London, and in her research she analyzes brain signals from experiments conducted in MRI scanners to gauge which areas of the brain are active when. The Oxford University PhD graduate also teaches physics and mathematics to university students, but she's currently taking a gap year in order to focus on Instagram and tutor in London.

Instagram users who recently opened the app may have thought they were in the wrong place — because, well, the platform's new interface looks very similar to TikTok's.

Instagram's new full-screen feed version, which is still in its testing phase and only available to a small percentage of users, has received criticism from the start, but now, celebrities are chiming in, including prolific Instagram users like the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and shares are starting to fall.

This prompted Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri to defend the update in a video posted to Twitter.

Naturally, the update elicited some immediate (and harsh) feedback on Twitter, with users accusing Instagram of "forcing reels down our throats" and complaining of "100x more ads," but things really started to escalate when Instagram user Illumitati posted an image that said "Make Instagram Instagram Again."

The post received more than 2 million likes as of Wednesday morning and was reposted by several celebrities including Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian on Monday, who captioned it "PLEASEEEEEEE" and "PRETTY PLEASE," respectively.

Reports consistently show that Instagram has the most engaged community on the internet: The platform's posts receive more engagement than any other social network out there -- 84 times more than Twitter, 54 times more than Pinterest and 10 times more than its older sibling, Facebook.

So, marketing on Instagram should seem like a no-brainer to any business owner, right? Yet, most business owners remain hesitant to jump on the Instagram bandwagon.
