তোমার সঙ্গে যখন প্রথম দেখা হলো, সেদিন কি বার,কোন মাস,দিবসের কোন প্রহর,কিছুই মনে নেই। শুধু মনে আছে তোমার সঙ্গে দেখা হলো। চরাচর চিরে তুমি যখন আবির্ভূত হলে, রজনীগন্ধার বোঁটার মতো যখন ঈষৎ নত হয়ে দাঁড়ালে, আমার শরীরের সমস্ত রক্ত মিছিল করে উজানে চলতে অরম্ভ করলো। চেতনার স্থরে স্থরে উৎসবের সাড়া পড়ে গেলো। আচমকা আমি বলে উঠলাম, আমি পেয়েছি,পেয়ে গেছি! নিজের উচ্চারণে নিজেই চমকে গেলাম। একী বলছি আমি! সামনে তুমি দাঁড়িয়ে। আমার মনে হলো, তুমি আসবে বলে, এসে এমনি করে দাঁড়াবে বলে, কতোকাল ধরে তোমার প্রতীক্ষায় আমি আধীর ছিলাম। আজ তুমি এসে গেছো। তোমার এলানো চুলের গোছা চড়িয়ে পড়েছে। চোখের তারা দুটো থর থর কাঁপছে। শরীর থেকে সুঘ্রাণ বেরিয়ে আসছে। বহুকাল আগে বিস্মৃত একটি স্বপ্ন যেনো আমার সামনে মূর্তিমান হয়েছে।
